I believe that the word “believe” has no final destination and absolutely no limitations as to where, when, or how it can be used. There are hundreds of thousands of ways to believe and things to believe in which is why I say that this word is limitless- whether that thing is something that clearly doesn’t exist such as Santa Claus, or something/someone that may be true or real but cannot be necessarily proven such as God. I also believe that it is possible to change beliefs. When I was a little girl I was so certain that the Easter Bunny was real. My mother always played off every child-friendly holiday a little too well; I actually believed in Santa until I was probably twelve and I only stopped believing because I caught my parents red handed placing gifts under the tree for my siblings and I labeled “From: Santa”. …show more content…

It sounds crazy now, but back then I loved the thought of a random man-sized bunny rabbit coming in my house to bring me gifts and candy. I’m not sure when exactly I stopped believing in these holiday mascots other than Santa, but the point is that I did then, and do not now. Thus, I changed my belief. A belief can be a number of things including a religious creed, a system of ethical, moral, or philosophical values, or a dedication to a social cause such as justice. So what is your most cherished belief? What belief governs the way you live your life? Is there any particular belief you would die for such as sacrificing your life in war?
