Facilitator gets participants attention and immediately plays a video clip on the rotary phone. The video features kids who grew up with smart phones and never experienced using the old rotary phone and are clueless on how it works. They are even asked, if they know how to text on this phone. The purpose of the media clip is to demonstrate where the phone was 60 years ago and how it has evolved to where we are now, the present, with technological smart phones, and to ask the prevailing question, where will be in the future. It demonstrated how cumbersome it was in the past to dial a number. Now, we just hit our contacts and a button, and the number is dialed. In fact, we can face time (phone video) and see the person we are talking too; we text messages; there is a built in encyclopedia-we call it safari or google; we can play games; get GPS directions; take photos/make videos; and send and receive emails. I know I have missed much more than I can think of right now. Those kids in the video found it hard to relate and could not imagine going back in time and use the old trusted rotary phone. And 30 years from now, what will the future look when it comes to the smart phone or what will your, our, organization will look. What is the future and what will it look like; what kind of people will the organization be hiring, what will be the new technology that will be used to identify bad guys; will weapons be necessary to protect citizens and fight crime; and will the organization still be effective and …show more content…

 Political: The Political developments can highly influence individuals and organizations. It is important to be aware of likely upcoming shifts in power. Political developments can affect environmental, antitrust, financial markets, trade, and other kinds of laws. Factors to be considered include political stability, regulation of monopolies, tax policies, price regulations consumer protection, jurisdiction and trade unions.

The Foresight tool that will be used during the workshop is STEEP. Facilitator will asks participants if they have heard of or participated in a workshop where STEEP was used. Participants will be introduced to the Future Wheel. Participants will be provided with two examples of completed Future
