The mistreatment of people because of their skin color has been present for centuries. It has deeply hurt the feelings of the victims of racism. Rosa Parks was one victim of this mistreatment. In 1955, Rosa Parks was arrested after refusing to give up her seat to a white man on the bus. She was an African American who was mistreated and felt awful and exhausted of the racism she's endured. She once declared “All I felt was tired, tired of being pushed around. Tired of seeing bad treatment and disrespect of children, women and men just because of the color of their skin” (Heckler-Feltz, 1). Although it was against the norm and culture to refuse to forfeit her seat to an American, I believe Rosa Parks made the right decision to stand up for her rights and what she believed in. The law that Rosa Parks broke heavily favored the white people, but she believed that everyone was created equal by God. No one is better than another person because of their race, wealth, or position in society. Just like what Galatians 3:28 says in the Bible, “ There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is no male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” In Matthew 7:1-2 it also states “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you” (New International Version Bible). This Bible verse reflects that if you don’t want to be treated in an atrocious manner then don’t treat others that way. The action of her standing up for African Americans and to help stop racism makes her the best model in the Civil Rights
