Martin Luther King’s acceptance speech aims to show non-violent approaches should be taken to fight for equality and to end segregation. To start, Martin explains how ¨more than 40 houses of worship in the State of Mississippi alone were bombed or burned because they offered a sanctuary to those who would not accept segregation.¨ Furthermore, he mentions this to show that more violence will not be successful in their efforts to end segration and inequality.
