First, we must worship God in song, testimony, praise and adoration. Worship keeps us focused on God. Prayer is a part of worship. In prayer, we communicate with God who supplies all of our needs. Worship, revitalizes and restores spiritual health and emotional balance.
Secondly, Christ left the responsibility of sharing the gospel in the hands of His disciples. Jesus was clear that his disciples had a job to do ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. Through Christ, we are resurrected to a new life which is eternal, holy, and fully conformed to the image of Christ; therefore, in perfection with God and one another. “We know that the whole creation has been groaning in labor pains until now; and not only the creation but we ourselves who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly while we wait for adoption, the redemption of our bodies” Rom. 8:22-23. I look to the resurrection of Christ as a depth of the power of love which is beyond understanding. The good news is that I will share in that same gift of resurrection. In truth, Christians have in baptism, experienced a taste of resurrection in Christ.
The Christian life in regards to ascension is again a moment of anticipation. Finally, we will see and experience all things as God intended in the Creation. Christian’s live with the tension of this world and the world to come. Christ has promised that He would prepare a place for us to be with him forever. Likewise, we will dine at the Lord’s Table, where Christ and all the saints will share in communion. Our ascension to God means that we will never again be separated from God’s awesome love.
