I can still remember how frustration and desperation engulfed me on the first lecture of introduction to computer and C language, when I found myself cannot understand any single word the professor said. It is simply because I never get to know how computer work before starting undergraduate study. However, instead of just sitting in the lecture room and feeling sorry for my ignorance, I prefer trying me best to fill in the gap and make some difference. Armed with my outstanding mathematical and logical mind, I soon understood the basic computer components and concept of programming. Learning from the easiest C language program to the complex one with iteration or pointer, gradually my confidence established and my interest developed. After I gained 93 out of 100 of this course, I was encouraged to have the aspiration that being a computer engineer. Then on the other computer science courses I also performed perfectly. I was inspired by the idea that making best used of existed functions is what the professionals will do. Standing on the giants not only made me focus on the functionality of programming, but also avoided the structural redundancy on program design. There was a course called Image Processing, giving me the chance to process images with MATLAB to get expected effect. In the final project, I successfully conducted the key transform between two human faces. I also re-processed the image with registration and Delaunay triangulation using existed function and obtained great effects. What’s more, I was able to attend the courses without linguistic problem and got along well with my assist professor. We discussed about some details about programming succinctly. When the semester ended, I got high scores on all the courses I had. In sum, I had great adaptation and familiarity on western education, which devotes to my intention to study
