In the course of taking this class and through the activities done in this class I learned a lot about the new career path I have chosen because of this class and I have also learned a lot more about myself as a person overall. If it were not for this class I probably would not have found my major as quickly as I did this year I would have gone through trial and error before finding the major I have declared and plan on keeping if all goes well. In this class we took the Meyers Briggs Personality tests and the results I got from taking this personality test were not surprising, I already had a basic idea of what most of my personality traits would fall under before taking the test. That question was answered when we did the career research project in class because we were given websites like O*Net that gives an understandable description of almost any career you look up. The current Major I have declared is Computer science, I have chosen this major because of the research I have done in this class over the course of semester and because the idea of my original major I came into school with now makes me want to cry. Grand Valley offers many on-campus resources that I plan to utilize to complete these steps. To find out whether or not I like my major I will talk to my advisor more about it and what I need to do to be successful in it, and to perfect my resume I will take it to the career center and have them look it over to make sure I have a everything set up well before I use it in applying for a job.
