Becoming a computer programmer would be great because there are many options in this career by having the ability to produce an operating system, or a game for the world. Computer programmers have many opportunities in life to find a job they would love. Programmers can work independently, or in a big company. Programmers have and are creating the future for computers.
Computer programmers have a wide range on what they can do. Computer programmers write the detailed list of instructions the computer will follow in the software (Great Sample Resume). This is also called “coding.” Programmers test their software, or other peoples, to see if it works properly (Career Cruising). Programmers study the tasks that the program will need to complete while being used (Career Cruising). If programmers are working to make a program for a certain group of people, they may work closely with those who are requiring the program (Career Cruising).
Computer programming can be a gateway job to many other interesting jobs. Programmers work in a wide variety of industries (Career Cruising). Programming can lead to making software for hospitals, banks, or even schools. But a very popular job for programmers is being part of a game development team. Programming can also lead to working for big companies like Google or Yahoo.
When working on software with a certain group of people, the programmer will tend to talk more on what they for the program. The programmer gets a list of things needed for the software. All of which makes this job perfect for myself as an avid computer fanatic. The technological aspect of this career not only excites me it also presents a challenge. A Challenge in which I as a student, and young adult, will be given the opportunity to rise and show my own strengths. Computer programming has evolved in many ways throughout the years. The first programmer was thought to be Ada Lovelace, who lived in the 1800’s. When translating an article about the Analytical Engine from Italian to French, adding her own notes, she was referred to as the first programmer for what she wrote in the article. Computer programming started many years ago, around the 1800’s, and is only growing today. “She has been referred to as prophet of the computer age.” (Computer History Museum, 2008). What is computer programming, how does it work for gaming, and how can a programming language be used?
Once I owned a computer I realized that there are a lot of things I can do with computers besides gaming. Nowadays, computers are so important to our jobs and lives. This influenced me to want to get a job working with computers. Computers make our life easier and more convenient. Something that cannot happen before, now with computer skills, everything seems to be possible.
Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and Mark Zuckerberg. These three men all have one thing in common, they became very wealthy from investing in the future of computers. A person may decide to go to college and make a career out of working with computers because of the potential earnings and consistent need of individuals who have studied computer sciences. This paper is going to inform you on what an individual does with a Computer Science degree, education needed to work in this field, and why we need people to do this kind of work.
To start off there are many different jobs that branch off of programming and have the variety for everyone. Anywhere from working on systems support to engineering new hardware and developing new software’s. Companies expect the highest level of their worker's abilities and getting on the job experience is key to advancing. While going more experience as a programmer it brings on opportunities that are greater each time. It gives you advancement choices and salary increase that are very beneficial to work productivity.
Computers are everywhere. Almost everything that uses electricity has a computer inside it. The industry is growing fast, too. The computer in your phone is more powerful than the computer systems that put a man on the moon. Computers are used for everything from entertainment, such as gaming; to work, such as compiling financial records and rendering architectural models. As the field of information technology continues to grow rapidly, the varied industries, tech or non-tech, need more and more trained professionals.
To tell the computer what to do programming gives it commands. Creating these commands requires creating variables and assigning them values. Computer programming programs are where you do this programming. These programs use different programming languages. Programming languages are a bridge between how we think and how a computer works. It translates the code you put into machine language (the language of a computer). Lastly programming languages make it easier to learn and understand the instructions you give the computer. You wouldn’t want to talk to the computer in its language and that is unnecessary.
“Computers themselves, and software yet to be developed, will revolutionize the way we learn” (Jobs). Every day billions of people use technology in their lives. Whether it is a notebook, a tablet, or a smart phone these devices have helped our lives. The people responsible for these devices are known as software developers. Software developers (or software engineers) develop new forms of technology to enhance our everyday activities. Activities like communication, research, and entertainment are made convenient by developers. Society has changed because of software developers and their innovations. That's why I want to be a developer.
A computer engineer has certain duties and responsibilities depending on the location and size of the firm he or she works for. Also the duties vary between job levels. If you work at a small firm, you will be set up on the firing line immediately and will be expected to make your boss money or you’ll be fired. Also in a smaller firm you’ll probably spend hours of pain-staking time trying to solve a problem that other engineers probably went over before.
For a career, I would like to be involved in the fast developing computer industry and more particularly with the Internet. I think it has immense potential and I would like to be able to develop the Internet to make it help the lives of day to day people. In this way I would also like to help make computers more like humans with for example voice operated user interfaces.
Computer engineers build and design computers and computer-related media (OCIS). A constantly changing career, computer engineering is offering more jobs now than ever before. Webmaster, HTML programmer, JAVA programmer, Online Content Developer. Five years ago such job titles didn't exist, but then neither did the work thousands of people are engaged in today. Once upon a time, computer programmers and electrical engineers were the only computer-related jobs. Now more jobs such as marketing, sales, product development, human resources and finance have joined the list of technological jobs.
Opportunities in the field are extremely available to qualified personel. I have heard first-hand accounts of people being yanked out of collage for a programming position at $80,000 a year. With the expanding of the market for technology, comes the need for programers of all backgrounds. Job-security is pretty good as long as you dont kill somebody(wich recently happened at a dot-com-start-up). And the outlook for promotions is good considering the shortage of programers.
In summary, throughout my life many career choices have crossed my mind. I have tried being a stay-at-home mom and a hospital employee. I am working on trying computers. The path I chose in computers is yet to be decided but the opportunities are vast. My current path leaves me many opportunities in healthcare and computers but the possibilities do not stop there. With further education I could still do anything.
Most people imagine their dream job is to become a famous actor or a job they have seen done many times. Though because of the progression of technology I would be more suited in a field involving computers. My dream job is to become a successful software engineer because I have always been into computer systems, but can I fit this job, is the career life something I can manage and what opportunities should I go after when becoming a software engineer. Each time I notice how a program is used I wonder how can I make it become faster or more efficient. When you are using your cell phone or iPad there is usually an update at every month.
