Shandon Black For the time being, I have my future almost completely planned out, which, for me, is an odd thing to have to do, as I am not usually the type who plans far ahead--only do I plan ahead in the short-term when some very demanding cause is at hand. But, as my future sits, it holds that I complete undergraduate school, move on to Medical school, and take all the steps necessary in becoming an ophthalmologist--the division of eye doctors that focuses on usually severe diseases of the eye; diagnosing, treating, and operating on such complications. School and profession are not my only focuses though. I have a passion for art and though I do not want to pursue a career in this area, I want to eventually open an art …show more content…

This is counter-productive to my goals and somewhat goes against my values. If I want to reach any of my goals, there needs to be some type of plan for and thought on the future. And this problem overflows into my daily life; I 'm starting to realize that I don 't think enough before I act and end up having to deal with the consequences instead of solving a problem before it happens. If things went any worse than they did or if anything like this happens again, I could lose all privileges and with them, any chance at my goals. For example, I can have my driver 's license suspended and what good would a motorcycle be when I have no legal right to ride it. And that is the least of the possible problems, not to mention the other, worse effects that could be produced. If I plan on efficiently reaching my objectives, there needs to be a change in my life, mainly--and to the greatest benefit--a change in my decision-making. One way I plan to change my decision-making is to carefully consider every possible result of an action before I proceed with it. I have been working on this for a while, but it is a long, learning process. This change entails that I weigh how a decision could affect my future, consider the pros and cons, think about my family and how they would react, and consider how anyone else might be
