When i was in junior high, i wanted to be an actress. Big time celebrity. No purpose or drive. I remember the spring semester of my sophomore year in high school. I attended a school production variety show, that consisted of theatre arts, dance, music and ensemble choir. I had to be apart of it. Mr. Buckner was my theatre arts teacher, and he said; “ If you really have a desire or passion to pursue something in life, the same amount of energy that goes into your passion and drive, should be the same amount of energy you put into working towards that goal.” Those words still stay with me till this day. After high school, i majored in Theatre Arts,and minor in Mass Communications, at Prairie View A&M. As the semesters passed, I evolved into stage managing, assistant director and producer to some of the productions. I wanted to expand my production/stage manager experience into the media industry. Every upper level class, consisted of field work. Building sets, casting call, script writing, editing with final cut pro, directing/producing, and finding locations to film. I resigned from job, to become a full time student. There were long nights, weekends early morning before class, in between finals; I spent with my classmates, to make sure we were delivering a polished product. Sacrifices.
