Biotechnology is a pathway to many avenues such as disease modeling, drug testing, and stem cell research. Biotechnology is the examination or innovation in light of science, with the innovation and information created when utilising biotechnology we can extraordinarily make life less demanding (Biotechnology Innovation Organisations, 2017). Biotechnology can be utilised to regulate control and intentionally manipulate and alter biological systems for the production of useful products. Studying this technology has showed us how much living organisms have evolved such a varied assortment of biological capabilities, which may be helpful and beneficial to humans in the field of food, fuel, medicine and chemistry (DCU - School of Biotechnology, …show more content…

This decisions was made due to the fact that chimera research is hugely beneficial towards biotechnology, health and medicine. By studying chimeras we can develop ways to cure or prevent diseases. Research of chimeras will save millions of lives by creating organs for transplantation which is in high demand due to the ratio of donors and people need organs. Not only that, chimera research can potentially give us a more clear view and understanding of how the human brain works by experimenting on brain tissues and brain parts of a human-animal chimera. These advantages are shown to be backed by the NIH who plan to lift the ban on funding chimera research. NIH has argued that although there are many precautions that are needed to proceed in the research of chimeras it is beneficial to us all. That is why funding of chimera research should
