Chewing gum is something that is often seen bad, but is actually great for you. Of course, some people’s argument is that “Oh, it can give you cavities!” While that is true, there is way to overcome this problem, that is even if you care about it. Sugar free gum is something that has been around for a long time. It is proven that it has no effect on your teeth other than good ones. Of course it doesn’t taste that sweet but if you’re chewing sugar free gum, you probably aren’t worrying. No doubt though, kids shouldn’t just be handed the privilege. There should be a process of kids needing their parents to sign a permission slip. It could state that they agree to, let’s say, if a kid ruins a piece of furniture or something of the sorts, they should be responsible and pay to replace it. This one detail will make sure that the parents are positive they want their kid to have that privilege. So if their kid is known to be irresponsible, the parents won’t take the risk. One thing that can monumentally help people is that it helps people that have ADHD focus and calm down. Not only is it evident through the past points that there’s multiple reasons to chew gum, but some have a bias and only look at the downside. It could be said that if you let kids chew gum in class, they’ll be loud, or maybe they will stick it to the desk according to The Educator. There is of course a solution though. To solve the problem of kids being loud, some teachers have made a rule called the “No Mess and No Noise” policy (Chewing Gum Facts).
