Propaganda In The Film 'Mad Max: Fury Road'

The movie Mad Max: Fury Road portrays the world in a post-thermonuclear fallout; where the rest of living inhabitants must fight to scavenge for resources (water, and gasoline). Which leads to the forming of factions by name of The Rock Riders, The Buzzards, and The War Boys to simple survive the current nuclear fallout which is the Earth. The War Boys look up to one leader known as Immortan Joe who runs the settlement known as the Citadel which has vast water and food that is a rarity during this era. Immortan Joe has a strangle-hold grip on the resources his settlement own; one scene Immortan release a decent amount of water to close it quickly and lets out the statement “ Do not, my friends, become addicted to water. The ideology that the Way Boys adopted is one from the Norse mythology of Valhalla (is a majestic, enormous hall located in Asgard, ruled over by the god Odin, in which warriors go when they have died in battle). They have been told this propaganda since their adolescent so they know no other way, and sadly some humans in this day and age are forced into this mindset (child soldiers) to do the bidding of men which they have no knowledge of. Which brings up a very prevalent factor in modern society many people have been known to raise children into a hateful belief system (The religious radicalistic, racism) The reason why many believe into Immortan Joe’s ideology is because he holds the key to all the resources in The Citadel, also known as the “Haves” while the people begging for resources are the “Have-nots” and will do anything to partake in the food/water if they accept Immortan Joe’s
