A leader is an individual who commands a group, organization, or country. In the play Julius Caesar, written by William Shakespeare, Brutus and Antony are both characterized as leaders. Between the years 1934 and 1945, Adolf Hitler was the leader of Nazi Party, Chancellor of Germany, and ultimately became, Führer of Nazi Germany. He successfully united the Aryans, allowing him to attempt a genocide of the Jewish religion. Although Hitler was a wicked man for his appalling acts, he was nonetheless, a prominent leader because he effectively utilized propaganda, and public speaking, to manipulate the German population, hence, gaining followers.

As Fuhrer, Hitler and the Nazis launched a campaign to attain public support for the war on Poland, which was not desired by the rest of society. Furthermore, they staged a border incident designed to delude that Poland initiated hostilities (United States Holocaust Memorial Museum). According to Nelson, "he could, therefore, justify his actions to the German people in the name of self-defense" (Nelson). Hitler’s constant use of propaganda allowed him to exploit his intentions of declaring war on Poland, in a deceptive way to society. He is then able to alter the public’s opinion of the war, as well as, "[reinforce] deep-seated anti-Polish sentiment" (United States Holocaust Memorial Museum). Through the art of persuasion, Hitler clearly demonstrated that he is capable of justifying his actions that were for the sake of Germany, and as shown in the play Julius Caesar, a successful leader explains their actions.
