Diana Frances Spencer also known as Princess Diana or Lady Diana was the Princess of Wales. In Diana’s time she was the most famous European and an American Icon. She was truly a noble person. The life of Princess Diana was glorious. Born on July 1, 1961, Princess Diana had a normal childhood just like every kid in the United Kingdom. In 1969 her parents divorce left her growing up with four siblings and her father. One of her siblings, Lady Sarah Mccorquodale, said, “ Diana always had a can do attitude when going through the bad times”. Things changed though in 1975 when Diana’s father, John Spencer, became the eighth Earl Spencer and inherit the new title. When Diana was 29 she met Prince Charles and four years later they got married. They had two kids, Prince William and Prince Harry. Princess Diana became very involved with helping AIDS sufferers and their families. Starting in the early nineties until her death in 1997 Diana did everything she could to help all AIDS foundations. Even though she was regal, she did not consider herself better than any AIDS sufferer, and constantly held AIDS victims and visted them when everyone else was afraid of their touch. Princess Diana first became interested in helping the needy when she was in high school. Diana fisrt started charitable works with the Voluntary Service Unit, where she would visit mentally handicapped teenagers. While many of Diana's friends were afraid and resistant about visiting Darenth Park, a huge mental hospital, Diana found that she had a natural desire for this work. Even though Diana was a princess and part of the royal family, she was not afraid to help AIDS victims and sufferers. Diana wasnt afraid to touch or even hug kids or adults who had AIDS or were HIV-positive. While it cannot be denied that Disney princess’ movies are pictured to please the eyes of the audience, this portrayal of woman is unrealistic and very idealistic. These distinct features as the cachet of beauty create the fallacy that people must own these distinct features to be called beautiful. The definition of beauty becomes monogamous and it fails to embrace the fact that women come from difference size and appearances. Furthermore, this standardized beauty of the princesses can represent the basic ideas in the society that women are expected to be alluring with sensual features and thin be worthy.
