Millennials, the most narcissistic, lazy, self-absorbed, unfocused, and lastly and most important, entitled creatures of the universe, as most will readily agree. When it comes to arguing over them, where it usually ends, however is, is this really true? The reason being is because although many readily agree that millennials are entitled such as Simon Sinek (2016) and his belief that millennials were “dealt with a bad hand” (p. 4) and now corporations should pick up the slack, others are convinced that these millennials are creating a positive impact on shaping the modern-day work force. The first being Parenting, Sinek (2016) advocated on how millennials were raised. Sinek (2016) goes on to say that millennials were dealt with failed parenting, they were told often that they were special, and that they could have anything they wanted in life all because they wanted it. Sinek (2012) goes on to explain the consequential result of these actions is a generation with lower self-esteem. The second factor- Technology. Sinek (2016) responds to how millennials are growing up with a “Facebook/ Instagram word” (p. 1), so therefore millennials are only showing the good side, the times when they are having fun and blocking out the bad times, as Sinek (2016) refers to as “putting a filter on things” (p. 1) or “showing people that life is amazing even though I am depressed” (p.1). Sinek (2016) also points out that this is another contributing factor why this generation is growing up with a lower self-esteem. Sinek (2016) continues to points out that millennials have an addiction to technology- mainly their phones. Sinek (2016) goes on to advocate that this is due to the hormone Dopamine which creates a pleasureful sensation to the brain, it is usually associated with drugs, money, and sex. Sinek (2016)
