The name of the play i saw was called “Cabaret”. It took place at the Festival Theatre (Shaw Festival) which is located at 10 Queen’s Parade, Niagara-on-the-Lake and was presented by the “Tams Witmark Music Library” which is in New York, New York. When American Journalist Cliff Bradshaw arrives in Berlin, he meets a nightclub singer named Sally Bowles at the Kit Kat Club, who he later falls in love with when she becomes pregnant. Desperate for money, he takes up his German friend named Ernst’s offer, who had offered him an easy way to make a good amount of cash. Little did he know by completing these tasks he was actually helping out the up and rising Nazi Party led by a Fascist dictator named Hitler. Another couple – Fraulein Schneider, Cliff’s landlady, and Herr Schultz, a Jewish grocer – must face the music, when the discrimination for Jews uprises, and she has to pick if she actually loves him enough to potentially endanger herself in the future.

When we came together with ideas for what text we wanted to use to inspire our performance, we ended up with about 10 ideas. Fairy tales, Edgar Allen Poe, Dr. Seuss, and urban legends had all been thrown out as ideas, but the play we chose was is a much lesser known greek play named, Casina. Casina, looking through one lens, is a comedy about two men fighting over a woman. Through a different lens, Casina is a power struggle between husband and wife and seeing which of the two will win over the other.
Staging and costuming a show for the stage requires a lot of time and hard work. When staging Angels in America: A Gay Fantasia on National Themes one would have to consider how to dress each individual character and how to split the scenes to have them flow with the different characters. For example, the scene where Joe leaves Harper at the same time as Louis leaves Prior has to be staged carefully so that the audience understands what is happening. The playwright Tony Kushner allows for overlapping in conversations, but the director of the play has to figure out how to make the scene have an impact on the audience. The play examines significant themes of the time period such as religion and sexuality as well as AIDS. The play has to be presented cautiously to have a significant impact on the audience.
The acting in the play was superb. Honestly everyone did an excellent job. Kody Grassett’s ability to act feminine like Mother Superior was amusing and realistic. Brianna Joseph’s dancing had myself laughing hysterically. Alexandra Voelmle’s portrayal of Agnes and her ability to switch from an innocent personality to her later sinful personality was impressive. The individual performances really showcased each actor’s strong suit which kept the audience intrigued the entire time. In the play, Ruined, Lynn Nottage the playwright shows how alcohol is important to the people of the Congo and how alcohol changes oneself. The play is based in the war-torn Democratic Republic of Congo in a bar/brothel that is owned by Mama Nadie. People come in the bar for sexual service and for a drink. The people of this area come to the bar to let go of their regrets because of the war or there hard work. One important man comes to the bar and changes from alcohol. His name is Christian a salesman to Mama and an uncle to one of Mama's workers. Throughout Ruined Christian a once respecful sober man changes because of his new desire for alcohol instead of Fanta.
The crime drama, “Beyond a Reasonable Doubt”, was produced in 2009 by Faisal Al-Saud, Mark Brooke, and Stephanie Caleb and directed by Peter Hyams. The two lead male actors were C.J. Nicholas as Jesse Metcalfe and Michael Douglas as District Attorney Mark Hunter. The lead female actor was Amber Tamblyn as Assistant District Attorney Ella Crystal.
Through the use of dialogue, stage directions which enable us to envisage the scene on stage and characterisation we can see how dramatic tension is created by Miller. These aspects are to be explored for each act.
I could see how Harold Hill’s tactic changed from something along the lines of ‘to deceive’ to ‘to woo’ around the song “The sadder but wiser girl”. Marian Paroo’s tactic also changes from ‘to avoid’ to ‘to love’ around “My white Knight”. These actors also projected extremely well, as I could hear everything being said. They articulated well too, which I believe must be hard for them as every character had a southern accent. The actors easily incorporated their character’s goals into their acting and onstage

The story of many Germans living in an uncertain world is shown through just a few characters. Life is a cabaret, or so the famed song goes. After watching "Cabaret," you'll agree to an extent, but also realize how unsettling the assertion is. Taking place in the early 1930s, a portrait of life in decadent Berlin, is both uplifting and grim. Not your typical musical, it is comedic and dramatic, realistic, very tasteful, and ultimately thought provoking.

Around the world children are able to express their creativity daily through the medium of play. Children play everywhere, at home, outside, at parks, at school, and many other places. This activity is enjoyable yet at the same time children learn how to solve problems, cooperate, take turns, and get along with others without even realizing that they are learning. Additionally, they develop motor skills such as climbing, running, grasping, and balancing all while participating in various types of play. Authors, Gordon and Browne state “Through play, children learn about the world: what color purple is, how to make matzo balls, and how to be a friend” (120). Therefore, play is not only fun for the child; it can also become a learning experience.
What is play? Is it an activity one does for enjoyment? Is it an essential learning tool? The answer is that there is no definite answer. There are professionals who have studied play and formulated their own answers as to what play is. Some say it’s unstructured peer interactions, others say it’s structured interactions. Some say it’s a special and undefinable activity while others say it’s a basic life activity. The reason for the clear differences about what play is, is because play encompasses many different things and has many different forms. From the moment babies are born until the moment adults die, they all participate in some form of play, whether it be smiling at somebody 's movement, playing hide and seek, or participating in a sport or group. Although the definition of play is not definite, there is at least one definite thing about play. That is that play is an important and crucial part of any developmentally appropriate early childhood classroom and has unfortunately been reduced and replaced by standardized tests and teacher-based teaching and learning. Play is an enormously important tool that human beings use to help them learn new information and without it
