Writing is something that comes to some as a talented ability, yet others as an inconvenient burden. It’s just one of those things where “you either have it, or you don’t.” Within composing, one can express their feelings and emotions through mind blowing subtle details. The reader can grasp the elements within a story, to where it practically feels as if they are living it themselves. Writing can be an unwinding strategy for some, a method of communicating feelings for others, or just essentially enjoyable.
Is it possible for one to become a better writer within a semester? Actually, in my opinion it is. For the past fourteen weeks, I have been in a structured composition class that has challenged my writing abilities, creativity,
It is a way for me to escape from the world of reality, if even only for a moment. It is a method for me to express my sentiments or feelings towards a particular topic, furthermore, it is calming to a certain degree. I prefer to write a narrative essay over a research or persuasive essay. A narrative essay is less demanding for me to compose in light of the fact that I can simply take a seat and begin writing on a blank screen. I don’t need to take notes from an online source, or stress over citing articles composed by others. I can be as creative as I want to be because it’s MY
It was a narrative, a style of writing I love, which made the assignment ten times easier for me. After clearing my mind, expressing what my grandfather means to me, talking about his disease and what I experienced throughout the closing of my job and his business of forty years, I was able to force out the feelings I had been keeping restrained inside me. It was my proudest essay because between each paragraph, the paper had significant meaning behind it. It wasn’t just some topic I had to research. I could communicate and vent my feelings all throughout the paper. In that essay, I put emphasis on meanings, used vivid details, and techniques that allowed me to organize my thoughts to compose a paper that flowed together
