Introduction
Personality is most generally viewed as a "characteristic way of thinking, feeling, and behaving.” It encompasses things such as "moods, attitudes, and opinions and is most clearly expressed in interactions with other people”[1] and therefore it helps form a person’s distinctive character. This concept can be dissected through the study of personality traits (amongst other approaches) which refers to the generally consistent but unique pattern of personal characteristics depending on the various situations and events in one’s life. This influences behaviour, thoughts and emotions resulting in individual differences.

A popular self-report inventory used to determine personality is the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). This indicator the psychological preferences that an individual has and is created by Katharine Cook Briggs and her daughter, Isabel Briggs Myers. The MBTI employs Carl Gustav Jung's theory of psychological types to evaluate and define personality (Goby, 2006).
