Role Of Environment In Human Behavior

The general purpose of the study is to emphasize on the environment’s role on humans behaviors and to show that human’s genetics and environmental influences are related in the shaping of human behavior. Throughout the years, humans have shown behavior patterns depending on their environmental settings, their past experiences and memories from childhood. But according to various different studies, human behaviors are not only a reflection of their memories, their environmental settings, and factors that can contribute to it, but it also has to do with our genome and DNA. Genome is the connected series of our DNA; which are different from one human to another; therefore we all carry different characteristics and attitudes. “During childhood more than one person might be exposed to the same environmental conditions and share similar experiences; but after a few years they could show a different pattern of behaviors based on the same shared experiences”. (Marcus,G. 2004). Upon further analysis of the research conducted in this field, one can determine that the forces within an individual’s environment as well as their genetic characteristics highly contribute to the behavior of any particular human being. In contrast with the past, more is acknowledged in the present about the significant role of genetic and environmental influences towards human behavior that was previously unknown.
An environment is described as the surroundings of the physical space and the things in it; humans, social structures, animals, water, and so on. “The environment can work for someone or not; and can affect the way people live their lives”. (Greeman, 1998). For instance, your surroundings not always will be working on someone’s favor; there are many ci...

... generations must consider their environment as well as genetics when attempting to explain a particular person’s behavior. By changing the social structures of society in a positive way, such as building schools and incorporating programs that promote positive behaviors, individuals might be given the opportunity to engage in positive behavior.
As more research is being conducted in the genetic field, we come closer to discovering just exactly which traits are passed on from generation to generation and if it is possible to be able to choose which traits one may want to pass on and which traits are better off left untouched. Needless to say, humans interact and are influenced by their surroundings at all times, and with the help of their genetic structure, they are allowed to make everyday decisions which can either result in positive or negative consequences.
