Personal Strengths and Weakness My real strength is my compassion and empathy. I pride myself in my abilities to provide help and guidance to others. Moreover, I pride myself in my ability to listen to others and summarize their concern. To better understand group members modeling the basic skills of listening and respect will allow other members to provide the support that is needed for achieving the group goals. As a therapist, I believe that I encompass the ability to provide a warm a caring environment where members will feel safe to discuss their deepest concerns. For example, in a heated discussion between two group members personally, I feel the responsibility of intervening. As an outcome, this doesn’t allow group members to settle their own conflict and disrupts the storming stage of the group process. Another difficulty that I experience is calling out-group members when they are doing things that disrupt the group. Furthermore, I find it difficult because I am afraid of sounding rude to that member particular group member. Moreover, not addressing the issues might cause other group members to be upset. As an outcome, by not addressing these issues it might cause the group disruption and to deviate from their goals. Some group members might challenge the leader more often, and it may cause group conflict. These weakness are troubling and critical to group therapy. However, I believe I have the ability to overcome these weaknesses. For the most part, I believe that with the knowledge and the experience I will gain I will be able to feel less discomfort in confronting these
