As I was starting my homework, I heard my mom yell "Honey! Come down for dinner!!". As I went down the stairs, an aroma of buttery mashed potatoes filled the air. As soon as I sat down at the table, my father asked the same question he does everyday, "what did you learn at school today sweetheart?" "Well, I read a story called "Block Party" and we had to identify the theme of the story, which was that you dont necessarily need a mother to grow up well, get advice, help regarding more personal problems, or to have a female role model in your life. I agree with the theme of the story because if you need advice you can always ask your friends, or or if you are having more personal problems you could go to other relatives in your family. Also, you could have another female role model, such as an aunt or a grandmother.
First of all, I agree with this theme because if you need advice you could go to your friends. For example, one of my friends needed advice about a boy that she had a crush on. As a matter of fact, the queen of England once said "friends are the best source of advice, mainly because they can relate to you or they may have the same thing going on in their life". Obviously, you don't need a mom to obtain advice.
Second, if you are having personal problems, you could go to other relatives. For example, if you are sick, your dad, aunt, grandma, or grandpa would take care of you, just like your mom would. Also, if you are coping with a death of someone, your family will be right by your side, crying and feeling emotion with you. Clearly, you don't need a mom to help you with your personal problems.
Third, you could have another female role model, such as an aunt or grandmother. For example, my cousin doesn't have a mother because she passed away, so her female role model is my grandmother because my cousin lives with her. Eight out of ten people who don't have a mother look up to their grandmother or aunt. Thus, you could have a good female role model without a mom.

Vietnam’s involvement in the Vietnam War impacted Vietnam in various significant ways. The Vietnam War was a very crucial war in Vietnamese history and changed Vietnamese society. The war was enduring and lasted for twenty-one years. It began in 1954 and ended in 1975. The war commenced due to disagreement of communism in Vietnam. The war was between North Vietnam, South Vietnam, and The United States. North Vietnam supported and encouraged communism in Vietnam. On the other hand, South Vietnam and The Untied States opposed communism and tried to prevent communism from spreading throughout the country. This eventually led to the chaotic Vietnam War. The war gained national attention and created pandemonium worldwide. The war impacted Vietnam in major ways and also impacted vital factors such as health, life in Vietnam, and economy. The leaders of North and South Vietnam also impacted all the involvement that took place in the war. The Vietnam War changed Vietnam greatly. The war left Vietnam in shambles and the war was also a calamity.
Participating in greek life is a great way to make friends, have an instant connection with certain people across the nation, and learn leadership skills and time management along the way. University of Virginia and Clemson University both have prominent greek systems that rule the social scene. As stated on, “Fraternity and Sorority Life” for the Clemson website, “Fraternity and Sorority Life is represented in numerous student organizations and for many, is an integral part of the Clemson Experience”. This quote shows the significance that greek life plays on the social scene at the University. Fraternities and Sororities compete in intermurals to doing community service. Greek life also helps build character. On the University of Virginia website, “About Us Fraternity and Sorority Life”, describes how leadership qualities are promoted and acted on by diverse service experiences. Victor did not keep in touch with any family or friends. Imagine the fight of Vietnam and the impact that it had on the veterans and the people there. Vietnam War was hard on most soldiers when they returned home from the striking fight. The men that had fought did what they had to live and survive, because the soldiers were drafted randomly from their birthdays. It ended up leading them into hatred from other Americans, because when they came back the people were not happy of what they did. These men were forced to kill to live even though most were just in school or starting college. All this shows that, the soldiers of the Vietnam War returned home and they were treated disrespectfully and unfairly.
When my dad broke his back it was hard on my family. It puts us in a fananul problem because he was our only source of income and my mom was pregnant with my little sister. I was only 5 when this happened so I don't remember a lot about it, but what my mom and dad have told me. I have to grow up to help my mom out around the house. It seemed like a normal day when I entered Mrs. A’s AP Language and Composition class, but little did I know that she was going to assign a very important project that was going to take forever. I took my seat and wrote down what was on the board. Then I sat patiently and waited for Mrs. A to come explain what we were doing today. When the tardy bell rang, Mrs. A glided into the room and gave us all a stack of papers. She then proceeded to discuss our upcoming assignment, a memoir. As she explained the very important assignment, I wondered whom I would write about. No one really came to mind to write about and I thought for sure I would never be able to get this thing done on time. I finally decided that I would write in on my mother, Kari Jenson. I knew I would probably put the project off until the very end and do it the weekend before even though it would get on my mom’s nerves. Putting work off was just how I did everything, it worked for me. When I arrived home from school that day, I told mom about the project. I told her I would most likely write it about her and she was overjoyed.
