I absolutely love soccer, and that is why I was exited for the coming weekend. This weekend I was going to Memphis for a soccer game. The reason I was exited for this game is because it is going to be our first real game as a team. I woke up Saturday that weekend and was ready to play. Me and my dad were going to drive straight to the soccer complex in Memphis where the game started at 10 AM. I had to hurry up and get ready quickly that morning because I got out of bed at 8:30 AM and we had over an hours drive. Then I got all my stuff and packed my soccer bag, and we were ready to go. Me and my dad got in the car, and drove for about an hour, and then we were there. We got to the soccer complex, and there must have been fifty different teams of all ages there. I kept looking for my team in red and white. Then I found them on the other side of the complex. They were getting ready for the game, and then I saw the other team. They looked huge. I thought they were about five years older than me. At that point I was not so confident about us winning anymore. How were we ever going to win against them? The game was going to start in a couple of minutes so I stretched, but I couldn't stop thinking that we would get beaten 10-0. Now it was time for the game to start. My coach told me where I would be starting, so I went and lined up with the rest of my team on the pitch. The …show more content…
We had fun and talked about the game. Then when we were done eating me and my dad drove back home. When we got back I told my mom about the game and about how we had won. She was very proud of me, and so was my dad. After that I went to bed feeling really happy. Looking back on this game I think that it really meant a lot for me and my team mates, because it showed that we could work really well together. Also this is something we can look back on and be really proud that we won our very first game as a
While I was in high school, I joined the soccer team. There were 15 girls in a team. There were three girls, whose last name was Lepcha. Who think that they play better soccer then everybody in a team and they do play well but not good as they thought they were. They had started playing soccer for one or two years ago. There were two other girls, whose name was Sabina and Dilu. They were my best friends. My one friend Sabina had played soccer for quite long and she played well but she did not have an attitude as Lepcha did. My second friend was Dilu; she was not that good at soccer. It was her first time playing soccer just like me. I do not know other people who were on a soccer team but the one thing I know about them was that it was their
This experience has taught me many valuable lessons. I learned that it is important to fight and work for what you believe in. I have learned more skills than soccer, such as teamwork and communication skills. I have learned that it's good to broaden one's horizon by meeting and becoming friends with people from other schools and communities. I'm looking forward to the soccer district and regional, and we hope we qualify for the state championship.
The journey back home was full of singing and celebrations of winning the tournament. Although it was the early afternoon that we arrived home, I was exhausted. The remainder of the day was spent telling everyone about the days gone past. Then life went back to normal.
With seconds to spare I arrived at batting practice and began to prepare for my game. I hear coach call out my name and as I he acknowledged that I was there he told me I was pitching. My brain shifted and went into a whole new mode, I was more focused and more determined than I have ever been. This was the biggest baseball game of my career and I 'm starting on the mound. Honestly it couldn 't have turned out any better, the fate of the pin and my team lied in my hands and I loved the pressure. The pressure made me thrive and before I knew it our team was marching onto the field for the national anthem. During the singing of the national anthem I peeked into the crowd and first row down the first base side was the little boy I met on the cart and his dad sitting right next to him. This game was for that little boy, I needed to impress him. I pitched six strong innings and my team ended up winning the game. It was the most exciting game of my career and the best part was being greeted with the best pin in the tournament after such a spectacular win. The little boy ran out into the middle of the field where we shook our opponents hands and in front of everyone in the stadium handed me the only thing I cared about besides winning. I was in the best mood for the rest of the day and I rewarded myself with a nice long sleep. I could only image what the next day had to
After that game, we had to go play at Riverdale. There was something about that team that we just couldn’t beat, even though we were better than them. We ended up losing that game 1-0, and I didn’t know what to think. Even though my high school soccer career was over, I handled it pretty well.
Let's take a step back, I woke up and I was not well rested. I thought to myself this is game day and I am still super tired. Then my Dad came into the room and said get your lazy butt you got a game today!!! I got and got all my stuff ready and checked bag not once but twice. I was ready to head to the school.
After four years of a new team every season, I went into my first practice of my fifth soccer season expecting the same to be true. Play on this team for one year and then be randomly placed on a different one the following year. Little did I know this team, especially the coaches, would leave a lasting impact on my life. I gained an invaluable support system that has stuck by my side for an upwards of nine years.
The bus ended up getting there, “finally”,we all said and we left, it was like a 20 minute ride. When we got there we had no time to warm up because we were really late;however, we still ended up winning. We slayed them by a lot of touchdowns. I scored 2 touchdowns, I felt proud of myself. After our first win the team was excited but we knew that the team we had just played was trash
I was wearing my orange uniform and my gray cleats. My brother was intently reading a book. I was going to my first soccer tournament. Columbus clouds covered the sky like a veil. The turf was so green it almost glowed. The first two quarters passed by in a blur. We were switched from offense to defense a hundred times per minute. Neither one of us could
We took the field in the second half. We won the face off this time. We went down the field, shot the ball, and the goalie saved it. He threw the ball up to his forward right in front of me, and I stepped up and hit the kid to prevent him from getting the pass and scoring. When I hit him, he fell straight to the ground and I couldn’t see where the ball was. It bounced and went in the net. I was so embarrassed at that point.
Before the soccer game had started both teams were preparing for a fierce battle. As I looked around, I could see the fear on my teammate faces. Some looked nervous while others were laughing and joking around. Seeing the size of the opposing team made me a little nervous too. My coach had the most confident look on his face as the players took the field.
I took lots of pride in have taken part of that huddle that day, there was no greater feeling. Everyone linked by the arms was just the symbol of unity amongst people with distinctive backgrounds but with one objective. We became family because we put the team before anything else, and selfishness became extinct from that moment forward. The smiles on my teammates and coaches faces meant true happiness even through adversity. This could take anyone a long
The team was ready, we had been working extremely hard for the past seven months for this. We were all in great shape and very rested. A few of the returning players were meeting me at my house to carpool to the final game of the state championship tournament. Everyone knew that the hard work had paid off when we won the semi-final game the preceding day.
This past year I fell in love with the game of football all over again. There were several reasons and changes that I experienced which made me love the game more and want to achieve at a higher level. Our team made a comeback from the year before, and that greatly changed the outcome of our team and how I felt. It’s interesting how a few simple changes could alter everything and make our team more imposing. Those simple changes made the sport really fun for me again and made me realize why I played in the first place.
