As an avid fan of an atmosphere enthralled with competition, and packed with an indefinite supply of suspense and engagement, I can confirm that the Rocket League title fulfills the natural tendency of our minds to wander into a world in which competitive superiority, and progressive advancement yields satisfaction and promotes collaboration. Indeed, after 896 hours of gameplay, I have experienced exhilarating victory - the product of numerous nail-biting saves, howling shots, and graceful aerial goals of which solidify one's sense of freedom. From the novice ranks of Prospect, boasting my innocence as a new player in the world of Rocket League, to the evolution of skill and advancement in competition as was highlighted by my rise to the star ranks-later known as Platinum and Diamond- I enjoyed pondering upon the idea that I had an everlasting potential to improve and increase my rank. People today go through many different avenues while striving for excellence in sports. The main objective these days seems to achieve excellence in the shortest possible time in order for self-satisfaction or for some kind of proof that one is capable of excelling better then someone else. Sports have a variety of difficulties. Excellence is a goal that is worked for, and no matter how long it takes, it is worth the wait.
Baseball was my life for fifteen years; learning values and tracing favorite memories back to my baseball journey make me grateful for these experiences. However, after a year of playing baseball in college while battling an injury, I decided to alter my goals; ultimately choosing to leave baseball behind. Finishing out the school year and anticipating what I might expect in the future left me feeling lighter; I believed I made the right choice. While on summer break, reflecting on my decision and thinking about my next journey, I became uncomfortable: I was no longer athletically active; I was no longer dedicated to a team, and I did not anticipate the search to find myself would leave me feeling uneasy. Competition is an incredibly strong and driving power that each individual contains. Whether it be against friends, siblings, teammates, coworkers, or even ourselves, every person experiences competition. Depending on the nature of a person, a competitive feeling can be felt monthly, weekly, daily, or even hourly. The emotion of competitiveness is felt at different types and at varying levels among every person. For example, a male football player may feel more rivalry during a football game versus a female cheerleader attending the same match. Every person will experience the thrill of competition, but at differing amounts and situations. Some individuals feel competitiveness usually in the pursuit of obtaining something, such as a title
All of my life the sports I have played consisted of teams, and those teams had to work together in order to succeed. Team players are people who can cooperate willingly with everyone but it is more than that. A team player improves others performance around him, a team player makes everyone a better individual and exploits their talents, a team player boosts efficiency as far as chemistry.
During my four years of high school I believe that my involvement in sports has helped me become a better person in life. I participated in varsity basketball and Track & Field all four years and my experience in both sports has taught me life lessons that I can carry with me for the rest of my life.
Sweat, aching muscles, and green spread out before me. I’d been practicing, I went hard and did my best to improve in every possible aspect. I worked not only on my form, my precision, and my power, but also on my mind; my mental game. I had to tell myself I could do it, I had to be confident in myself, no reassurance from others. I was told I had no chance, how could I win. I was expected to lose, and I thought I would.
I love volleyball even though it has not always been easy. I have had a lot of problems during my volleyball journey that have helped me grow physically, mentally, and spiritually. I started playing volleyball in fifth grade on the middle school team and am now playing on JV. I did not get a lot of playing time when I first started, but I practiced and learned the basics of the game. I developed a love for the game with a great group of girls that I looked up to, during my first season. I have not always had the best team and coach, though.
Ever since I was a little boy, about eight years old or so, I had an extreme passion for the sport of basketball. On weekends, I would wake up in the morning, eat a bowl of frosted flakes or cheerios, put on basketball shorts and then go in my driveway to shoot around. I would be out there for hours just shooting around or playing with some random kids that I would occasionally see walking around my neighborhood. This was satisfaction to me, but even better was playing on multiple public teams and not just playing in my driveway every day. In elementary school, I played in a recreational league, just like almost every other kid who tries out basketball when they were younger. This was fun and all but it was nothing too serious. There were never any practices, it was just one or two unorganized games per week. I never took
I've learned a lot things in my breif time being alive, but only ne of those ideas really stands out to me. It is something that I try to live by and think of all the time. I've leaned that whatever you do, you need to have a passion for it. Without that passion you will never try hard enough.
Basketball is one of the many sports I play. It clears my mind from everything. It helps me focus. I don't know what else I would do to burn energy. It really helps me connect with my friends. It's one of the only things I really like to do. I play basketball almost every day. I like basketball because most my friends do it. It has always been basketball.

It was at this moment that I realized that there truly is no “I” in team. A team is not characterized by the individuals within, but rather what the individuals can come together to achieve. For so long I had tried to discover where I belonged on the team. In reality, I should have realized that from the moment I stepped on the court, I was already a member of the varsity team. With a newfound sense of strength, we continued the game. Every single point we won felt like we were putting our lives on the line, while every single point we lost felt like ten-ton chains were holding us down. Even so, it was just another volleyball game. One I had experienced on multiple occasions, perhaps not to the same magnitude, but it was a relatively familiar situation. Strangely, it felt different. I felt more relaxed, more confident, and I was having more fun. At the time, I was not sure what it came from. I was too focused on finishing out the game to pay it much attention. But reflecting on it now, I realize that without a doubt, it was because I truly felt like I belonged on the team. For the first time, I knew that my team was behind me, ready to help me up whenever I fell. We continued on with the game. Despite being down two sets to one at one point, we now found ourselves nearing victory in the fifth set.
