Growth is an inevitable part of life where things are constantly changing before our eyes even realize. I started off this semester dreading this class because I wasn’t so sure whether I can handle all the work that was on the syllabus. I did not really enjoy writing essays, unless it was about a topic I could relate to that makes me enjoy writing about it. Throughout the semester, we were asked to write three different types of essays which I was able to really grow as a writer. Each essay required lots of time, patience, solid ideas, and quality effort to make an essay that was done to the best of my abilities and was proud to turn in. I learned many new approaches and skills to improve my writing such as making sure I am making sense with the supporting details I used, have a strong body paragraph that connects to my topic sentence and relates to my thesis. …show more content…

Although, I was able to grow and improve as a writer this semester, I feel that there is still a lot for me to learn and room for me to continue growing using these techniques I’ve learned from this class. These academic techniques will help me in the future in my education, career and in life to be successfully educated wherever life takes me. I’m strongly finishing this English class, but this isn’t the last time I’m going to be using the techniques I’ve learned from this course. I can still apply these techniques to papers and other class assignments in other courses dealing with writing. One technique I have learned that I can apply to my other classes is revision.
