Writing has incessantly been a struggle throughout my short life. Within writing, everyone possesses the entirety of tools needed to produce greatness, but many lack in the manufacturing of the product. You may have the greatest ideas for novels and short stories, though be unable to truly express yourself within the confines of only words. This precise issue faces me on a daily basis. All these exceptional visions spinning in my mind, yet I have not been able to master the art of putting these visions onto paper. However, I do admit I have grown as a writer over this single semester, and have major goals set for myself, not only as a writer but also in my career field. Comparing myself from the beginning of the semester to now, I may honestly say I have improved in my grammar usage and punctuations. A prime example of my punctuation problem was seen in my personal narrative essay, “Nevertheless, I was first born here in Honolulu, Hawaii in the pink hospital, but did not stay here long” (Personal Narrative Essay). I realized how important language and grammar are, and that I needed to improve upon these skills before attempting to move forward on my career path. Currently, I am studying to become an elementary and special education teacher. Who am I to teach our youth grammar, when even I struggle with it? Based on this question was why I certainly pushed myself throughout the semester to continuously strengthen my work submitted. Additionally, having proper grammar is useful for any career field. No matter the job the probably for needing an outstanding resume is recommendable. With this skill of writing, it may surely take you down any path you choose.
