I remember the long-term recovery of Hurricane Katrina. I remember watching the news seeing people on the roof after the hurricane. I remember the families crying, pleading for help. Men walking, carrying babies asking to send more help. Women holding their children for dear life. The hospitals abandoned patients stuck with no help. Senior citizens cold restless, wanting shelter. Markings on houses and buildings of the number of bodies they found dead. Under the circumstances, if I was Dr. Anna Pou I wouldn’t be able to take a patient’s life. Now Pou claims that she did not murder them patients. Pou also claims that she doesn’t believe in euthanasia. But let’s get real forty patients isn’t going to inject their selves with morphine. Now

But, where is the help for the people affected mentally? Physically and monetarily, they can recover but the trauma left from these disasters are what affect us the most. Because disasters leave so much damage - property, money, lives - in order for one to recover, the system of coping is required.
