On a bright summer day, my friend Jaycee and I made a delicious and important discovery. We made a wonderful chip flavor. It all started when Jaycee and I had nothing to do. We wanted a good and easy way to make some cash, so we looked on the internet. It said that there is a Lays Chip Flavor Contest coming up. It was called, Do Us A Flavor. It stated that if you have a good idea to make a delicious chip flavor and you win, you could win one million dollars! We thought, that is a lot of money. We thought and thought of an idea for a chip flavor, and we finally came up with one. It is the flavor of one of our favorite pizzas from our home town, chicken bacon ranch. We were so excited that we came up with a flavor to submit! We asked our parents
The company is driven by a strong set of values, even if some of those decisions increase its costs internally. This is especially the case with the sourcing of its ingredients and meats. In fact, the high-quality ingredients and advanced cooking methods used by Chipotle are second to no other fast-food chain. Among recent developments, the leader in fast-casual dining concepts plans to become absolutely GMO-free by the end of 2014. Although the aim is not new, it shows Chipotle’s commitment to bring fresh ingredients to the table. Besides offering high-quality meals to its customers, the portions are generously sized and the value is unmatched. There are very few places that can fill you up for less that $10 with quality food, and not junk. The triad of fresh, pure ingredients, cutting-edge cooking methods, and tremendous portions gives Chipotle a mouthwatering appeal.
An average human will eat almost 19,000 chocolate chip cookies in their lifetime. And the great person who let us have all those cookies, is the person that invented it, which is Ruth Wakefield. But, did you ever think about how it was before that cookie was invented? Probably not, the chocolate chip cookie, started so many other inventions. Imagine life without chocolate chip cookies, we would miss so much more than just than the one treat. Your last chocolate chip cookie probably wasn´t very long ago, that´s why you will be interested in this topic. Today I am here to convince you that Ruth Wakefield, the creator of the chocolate chip cookie, needs to memorialized for her invention. In my speech today I will cover why Ruth Wakefield should
Madelyn McQueen - Twin Falls Idaho Have you ever wondered how the delicious, classic treat came to be? Well, any event you can think of after the date of 1938, the cookie was bound to be there. Several stories about how the country’s favorite baked good came to be, have been spread and believed by thousands. For example, Ruth Wakefield unexpectedly ran out of nuts for a regular ice-cream cookie recipe and, in desperation, replaced them with chunks chopped out of a bar of Nestle bittersweet chocolate. Another story is said that the vibrations from an industrial mixer caused chocolate stored on a shelf in the Toll House kitchen to fall into a bowl of cookie dough as it was being mixed. Sadly, all of these stories are false, says Carolyn Wyman in her recently published “Great American Chocolate Chip Cookie Book.” In her book, Wyman offers a more believable version of how the cookie came to be. Wyman argues, that Ruth Wakefield, who had a degree in household arts and a reputation for perfectionism, would not have allowed her restaurant, which was famed for its desserts, to run out of such
Chipotle has grown to become a leader in the fast food arena. According to Our Company,
§ The phenomenal success of Frito-Lays Dips was due to two factors: cheese dips were novel and Frito-Lays flavors were innovative, and they had the right merchandising location next to salty snacks.
When first viewing, this photograph I thought it was made from bananas but after a closer observation I realized that it is actually Cheeto Puffs. I would have never imagined using a food like this for a portrait. I was also trying to figure out how the Cheetos fit in with the idea of a cocktail party. “She captured a familiar scene
Eating has been one a great joy to me my entire life. It is a huge portion of everyone’s day, and for most, happens at least three times a day. If we eat three meals a day every day for a year that is one thousand and ninety five meals! With all these meals we need a nice place to sit down and enjoy it. Whenever I get hungry, I always find myself at Chick-fil-a; well, at least five times a week. The familiar sights, comforting scents, and soothing sounds of Chick-fil-A that make it the birthplace of happiness.
Chips are one of the most popular snacks as they are very addicting. But, chips aren’t the healthiest snack. They contain a lot of fat and sodium, which are also high in calories. Some people can’t have a lot of fat and sodium because of health issues,i.e. heart and weight. This specific ad was also in the magazine “Weight Watchers”. So, chip brands have been trying to manufacture healthier types of chips. First with baked, kettle chips, which are only a little bit healthier. What if there was a chip that contains much less fat and less calories? That’s what Popchips™ are trying to do. In the advertisement, they compare some nutritional values of Popchips™ , kettle chips, and fried chips. I think that the advertisement works for the most part
Marketers are often accused of marketing to children to gain higher profits. Young children are targeted because they usually do not know right from wrong. Many people have criticized McDonald’s for advertising the Happy Meal towards young children for higher profits. Some people consider it unethical because the Happy Meal is so unhealthy. However, McDonald’s has taken many initiatives to show that it is a corporation that does not manipulate children for profit and that they care for children. The Ronald McDonald House Charities organization was created by McDonalds in 1974 to help children in need. The organization believes that helping one child will go a long way, and they express their commitment in their vision statement, “We believe when you change a child’s life, you change a family’s, which can change a community and, ultimately, the world” (Ronald McDonald House Charity). McDonald’s also provides donations for many other children’s charities and has taken steps to improve the Happy Meals by providing healthier options. McDonalds works hard towards making children all ove...
I LOVE to cook: grill, roast, bake, smoke, you name it, I want to do more of it.
The delicious smell of chocolate chip cookies is known to everyone across the nation. Americans thrive on deserts and chocolate chip cookies happen to be one of the many favorites. I made it my goal to go out an find the best chocolate chip cookie by surveying people and testing three popular brands of cookies for flavor, chewiness, and appearance.
Horsey’s veracious depiction of the distribution of U.S. wealth constructs a dismal, eye-opening reality as he portrays the uneven proportions of slices that is the U.S. wealth given to the rich, the middle class, and the poor and the added whipped cream called tax cuts presented to the affluent. In his political cartoon, reasonably named “ Dessert, American Style,” he paints the image of an elephant, who represents the Republicans, offering further tax cuts to the wealthy who already have a substantial portion of the U.S. wealth. While the rich are served the majority of the pie, the middle class only receives a single slice and the poor are given mere crumbs. This illustrates how the GOP favors the rich by giving them tax cuts while offering
The company’s product is primarily comprised of burritos, bowls, tacos and salads. Customers can freely choose what they can put in their food, allowing for customization, which is one of the key factors that Generation Y prefer. The Theobroma cacao tree is where it all started. Olmecs, Aztecs, and Mayans were the original consumers of cocoa: they would form it into a drink and ingest it for medicinal reasons (Allen Par. 7). The Spanish then brought it back to Europe and continued to treat a variety of ailments with it (Allen Par. 7). In the last 40 years people have started to question the health benefits of chocolate, but new research is starting to prove that the Olmecs, Aztecs, Mayans and Spaniards were not too far off. Now, the pods from the tree containing cocoa beans are collected, and the cocoa beans are taken out of the pod (Healing Foods Pyramid Par. 15). The beans are then fermented, dried, roasted, then ground to make cocoa liquor (Healing Foods Pyramid Par. 15). The cocoa liquor is then combined with sugar, vanilla, and cocoa butter to make what is now known as chocolate (Healing Foods Pyramid Par. 15). Controversy over the health benefits and detriments of chocolate is slowly subsiding, but there are many things that a lot of people still do not know about how chocolate can affect ones health. Chocolate is misunderstood.
From this rudimentary description of the production of potato chips, one can see that the main ingredients include potatoes, oil, and some salt. However, what may not be so apparent are the “non-ingredient” inp...
