I was in 5th grade my dad and step mom had a surprise for me. We went out to eat for my birthday, when we came home they had a scavenger hunt ready for me in our house. I thought the scavenger hunt was just a fun way to celebrate my birthday but it turns out it was much more than that! They had put little clues in the scavenger hunt to show where we were going and what we were going to be doing at this place. As I would go find the clues for this scavenger hunt I would find cool pictures of Disneyland, and Disney characters along with this really fun water park and the beautiful beach. As I would find more pieces to the scavenger hunt they had started to put bigger things on the cards i'd find. I still wasn't 100% on where we were going, I also didn't want to get my hopes up and then be wrong and end up not going. As I got to the end of the scavenger hunt there was a big box I could hardly carry it because it was big and heavy, (i'm sure it didn't have anything to do with me being short and weak!) I went inside and opened the box. As I opened the box all of these balloons flew out at my face, (they actually kind of scared me.) I took out wrapping paper that was covering a bunch of things. In the box there was this small little scrap book for kids to take pictures and just quickly print them off and you could put …show more content…
them in there easily. As I was tearing through this box with the biggest smile on my face there was this sign that said " We are going to Disneyland!" I was so speechless, I actually started to tear up. At that point in my life I had never been on an airplane before, I was going with my aunt uncle and their 3 boys, along with my brother step sister, dad and my step mom. The day finally came to when it was time to leave and go to Disneyland! We didn't get to the hotel until 10. We were all waiting for my brother to get to the hotel and he didn't get there until 10;30 or so. Well none of us were tired so my dad and my brother Jordan went to get us Taco John's and we didn't fall asleep until 2 a.m. It was the next morning and I finally got to fly in a plane and go to Florida!
I was beyond excited and it was diffidently a dream come true for me and I won't ever forget how exciting it was and all of the memories my family and I had made together that week in Florida. We did so much stuff together. We all went on so many fun rides and got to see so many interesting things together and experience so many interesting things together. That vacation will forever be with me and i could not be anymore thankful to have been able to go on that trip and have the loving family that I have. But from now on my family and I go to Mexico most years for spring
break.
As a diehard deer hunter I can tell you it is not easy. No aspect of hunting is easy in any way. Hunting is a physical sport that can drain you mentally and physically. There will be days in the woods where you bleed, where your sweating through every layer of clothing you have on, and last but not least cry. Learning how to hunt takes a lot of time and patience but, it also takes a passion for the sport. The more knowledgeable you are about what your hunting the better off you’ll be.
We went ahead and shopped for some souvenirs. I believe I my mom bought me a Batman tee shirt, along with a few other things I could not recall. Then I saw a store that sold candy. Walking in I saw a diverse variety of sweets, and they had everything from chocolate to lollipops. My eye caught a little container full of gummy worms, and I decided to a bag full of them. Once my mom purchased the candy, we began to head out. I remember walking next to my father. When suddenly, boom! I ran into a ginormous window, and my dad walked through the door. My parents and the young lady working the cash register began to laugh. My mom said, "Are you okay?", "Yes, I am fine.” I said. She looked at my forehead, and she noticed I had a small bruise. My mom thought it best that we sat down for a few minutes. I thought we should go on another roller coaster. We ended up getting on The Superman Krypton
I rushed out to the truck as the horn blared. I threw my things into the truck and we went off towards the woods. I had to talk to Kevin about where the deer come from when i am sitting in the stand. He told me everything I needed to know about the place less than 10 minutes in the hot and humid truck. Well let's go back to see what led to this.
According to Cornel West African Americans had "[...]rhythmic freedom if not political freedom"; this statement signifies the main importance of folktales in that they were a source of escape for many slaves. In addition, these folktales were empowering, informative, and gave African Americans a sense of community. The folktale "Deer Hunting Story" is a perfect example of how folktales were empowering. "The Deer Hunting Story" goes as follows: a slave and his master go deer hunting, both with rifles in their hands, the master attempts to drive the deer towards the slave for him to shoot; however, the slave lets the deer run past and when confronted by his master, he claims to have witnessed a white man with chairs on his head run past (60).
It was the middle of October, and it was finally time for my long awaited moose hunt. I have waited ever since I was a little girl for this opportunity, and it was finally here. So, my father and I packed up our stuff and left the warmth of Phoenix. We were leaving the "Valley of the Sun" and headed for a place called Wyoming. After two days and fourteen long hours of driving, we made it to our hunting unit.
The trip to Canada was about two days long by car. On the way there we stayed in a hotel overnight. When we got to the hotel we took our luggage to our rooms. We went down stairs and we found the swimming pool, we went swimming and then we went to bed. The next morning we got up and packed and we were bock on the road. It was kind of fun because we had to cross the border into Canada. We had to show them our passports and our birth certificates to get across. On the way to go to our cabin we saw a bear cross the road in front of us. Then when we got to the cabin we
The Hunting Ground, directed by Kirby Dick, has expressed many college students who have been raped on college campus face retaliation and harassment as they fight for justice. On college campuses across the nation, more and more victims are stepping forward towards the authorities reporting their incident of sexual assault. Still, only a few assaults are reported leaving the offender to roam freely and attack their next victims. We also see very few cases investigated properly and most on the less end perpetuators actually even getting convicted. The perpetrators frequently use alcohol and drugs to get women in a different state as a means to coerce them into having sex, and some simply uses force on them. The
Many people see hunting and fishing as the slaughtering of innocent animals for no reason other than sport and fun. However, the truth is, hunting and fishing are beneficial to people, environments, and the economy. Hunting and fishing are beneficial to the economy because they cause a major economic impact. Hunting and fishing are beneficial to environments and people because they reduce damages done by wildlife overcrowding. Hunting and fishing are also beneficial to people because they provide a healthy, affordable source of food.
On that fateful day in March, I was a couple months shy of my third birthday. My family and I lived in New Mexico at the time and were renting a house with an outdoor in-ground pool. The day was beautiful. I was outside with my oldest sister Rachel and my father. Rachel was diligently reading curled up on a bench that sat against the house, and my father was mowing the backyard. My mother and my other sister were in the house. Off to one side of the house there was a group of large bushes. I was playing over there with one of her large cooking pots, off in my own little world. At one point while amusing and en...
Why Do People Hunt I can still recall it, the cold air, the bone chilling wind, the frozen earth, the sounds that echo for miles. It seemed like hours that I sat beside this massive oak tree, but it was all worth it when my time arrived. I can still remember the feeling of blood rushing through my veins warming my entire body in an instant when he finally approaches. As I raise the iced over barrel of my Grandfather’s 30-06 bolt action rifle, he turns broadside.
It was my favorite of all the lures in my tackle box. It had a blue back and an orange belly separated into two parts to give the illusion of a broken back. The effectiveness of this lure was spot on. It dove about 7-8 feet and could catch the attention of even the most elusive bass. I often found myself using it when the day started to turn into dusk and the fishing got really good.
Raking both hands through his loose hair, his elbows pointing almost to the ceiling, Loki stopped a moment. Closing his eyes, he took in a deep breath. With both hands clasped at the back of his neck, he was well aware of the picture he presented to Tony. All long lines, slender, but with well sculpted muscles, long blue black hair contrasting with his pale skin, now delicately flushed from the heat of the room. And tall. While he was attracted to all the rest, Tony had a weakness for those that towered over him. Loki allowed a soft smile blossomed across his face. No less than his own, did Tony’s nature war against him. He wanted to look up to Loki; he wanted to be dominated by his god. Tony craved those moments when he could release control, and just feel. Memories of a those times when Tony put himself totally in Loki’s hands made dark desire pool low in the god’s belly.
“Remember that on Earth we try not to kill our enemies if it can be helped,” Steve reminded Fandral. “I thought your berserker had already killed several Zeta Reticulans.” “The ones he killed attacked us. Besides, piss off the Hulk and you deserve what you get.” Loki smiled.
I can still remember how excited I was before take off, I mean it felt like forever while we sat in the plane waiting to take off. Just all the anticipation that was inside of me had just made the wait even longer for me. Finally, I heard the pilot say 'prepare for take off'. When I heard those words I was so overjoyed I could hardly contain myself. That rush I got once the plane took off was an experience like no other. The plane ride was about hours long and I enjoyed every minute of it. Little did I know, that was less than half of the fun I was going to have at Orlando.
My first experience happened on my fifth birthday. I was down to my last gift of the day from my parents. They proceeded to tell me that I may not understand what this gift was and it 's importance quite yet. I ripped the wrapping paper to shreds and found a tshirt. In my head I was thinking, “all I received is a tshirt!” I turned the tshirt around and it said, “worlds greatest sister” I did not really know what was going on or what is meant. My parents told me that we would be
