Personal Narrative: A Jet Ski Story Of My Life

I have been told throughout my life that I am abundantly prone to clumsiness. Some stories in my life are perfect evidence for this accusation, such as the time on New Years I fell off a jet ski. The Jet Ski story is now a popular anecdote in my family. Although it resulted in a minor ankle sprain the story seems to be as equally amusing if I had lost a foot. The saying “what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” should also apply to Mexico, for my sake. I had never been on a jet ski as of New Years day but the thought of riding the clear blue waves was captivating. I somehow managed to convince my dad to go on one with me on New Years day. The waves were tranquil and the ocean was vacant, the sun setting made it all the more prepossessing. We rented the jet skis and put on our unnecessarily intense orange colored life jackets in case we were in the mood to blind a couple fish. Just before we could get onto our jet skis that kept attempting to float far away from us, we took a couple mandatory vacation pictures to show on social media our adventurous side. It required a special skill I learned that I lacked, gracefulness. My technique for getting onto this Jet Ski was similar to one a rock climber would use. My dad and I took a couple more Jet Ski pictures with the sunset in the background but by the time he and I were both on it the sky had turn to an ombre of blues. We turned the engine on and rode out far into the ocean until all the palm trees on the shore looked like little green bubbles. When we sped up the Jet Ski the wind blowing at us made us a bit chilly but the warm water gathering itself around our feet kept us heated.
