Introduction Does personality testing define the final word on how we live our lives or interact in work environments, in academic settings, and within relationships? Recognized as a starting point, it confirms our strengths and weaknesses, assists in self-reflection, supports decision-making, enhances interaction with others, and designates where we reside along the personality spectrum. The following will explore my own personality preference, an explanation of my polar opposite persona, and the investigation into life situations and strategies. Confirmation of Profile My confirmed profile is I-S-T-J, Introverted-Sensing-Thinking-Judging. According to the personality test designed by Humanmetrics (n.d.-b), at the time I took the test, my numbers were listed as follows: Introvert (75%)-Sensing (16%)-Thinking (59%)-Judging (75%). The ISTJ learning style, like business style, is a practical approach, best done with details, and structure, and leading to experience, using what they know, when learning in an academic environment. Logical and efficient, learning is a step-by-step process; no rushing allowed. ISTJ personalities learn well alone, and prefer one-on-one discussions with instructors, but also welcome small group sessions. Practice over theory is the essential key to my learning process. I easily memorize theory, or "book learning," of the actual material on a subject, for example, in Medical Laboratory Technology. Nonetheless, I excel in the actual, practical application of the information, performing procedures, specific tasks, or analysis in the hospital Lab setting.
