This is how my perfect day would go. Waking to the smell of bacon and eggs I get out of bed and get dressed. I go into the kitchen and sit down at the table ready to eat. Shortly after I eat and go into my garage and warm up my 2018 Kawasaki Ninja H2. I get dressed in my leathers so block out the cold when I am driving to Reynolds, Nebraska. I arrive around 6 in the morning. I walk inside to find Zach cleaning and fixing his bike. After he runs a maintenance check on the bike he gets ready for the road. We set off around 7:30 and arrive in Colorado around 1:00. First we drive around the rocky mountains for about an hour or so. Once we are done we head to Copper Mountain Resort to go snowboarding and Skiing. It’s about 3 when we are done
Saint Patrick’s Day is a story of history versus legend, according to randomhistory.com. Saint Patrick is known as the patron saint of Ireland because of his service across Ireland in the fifth century (theholidayspot.com). Without Saint Patrick’s background/childhood, Saint Patrick being a good bishop, or how Saint Patrick’s Day has come to be nothing would be known about him or Saint Patrick’s Day on March seventeenth.
Dia de los Muertos translated to Day of the dead in English is a famous holiday celebrated in Mexico every year on November 1. It is thought that by doing this celebration we are celebrating death but it is the opposite, by celebrating El Dia de los Muertos we are remembering our relatives. In this special day altars are set up with candles lit up and the reason of this it is so that spirits can find their way home. The altar offers spirits their favorite food and in general their favorite things that they used to enjoy when they were around us. The most familiar symbol of this special day celebrated most typically in Mexico and in border cities such as Ciudad Juarez and El Paso Texas are calacas (skeletons) or calaveras (skulls). This ritual was started by the Aztecs about 3,000 years ago [1]. It is believe that on October 31 the doors of heaven open and all of the deceased persons can reunited with their family this is a
Alan Seymour’s The One Day Of The Year, set in the early 1960’s is one of the most evocative Australian plays of the 20th century. The “1960s” also refers to an era more often called the Sixties, standing for the complications of inter-related cultural and political trends around the globe. This play follows the story of a young university student, Hughie Cook who assists his girlfriend, Jan, in writing an article criticising Anzac Day. This article causes great distress in his ex-serviceman father, Alf, who courageously fought in World War Two. Seymour’s play gives readers an insight into the lives of those whom ANZAC day effects and brings to the light issues such as multiculturalism, education and the class system. The three main characters are all representations of the dry
According to a recent article, “1.5 billion people are without the full Bible in their first language” (“What’s been done”). This statistic shows that there are many people in the world who do not have a way to learn about Christ . We need people who are willing to go and spread the word to people who do not have these Bible translations. To spread the word of God, Christians need to understand how many people already know about God, how to spread the word in places like the 10/40 Window, and how to get missionaries into remote areas so people can who do not already know about Jesus can learn more about Him and become followers of Christ.
It may mark the kickoff to summer, but Memorial Day is truly a day for honoring those who sacrificed their lives while defending the United States and its values. It’s a day to build awareness about the country’s freedom and the significant price for this freedom. Every year soldiers in addition to their families have to pay that price, which is why it was declared a national holiday by Congress in 1971.
“You will leave here in the morning, at the crack of dawn. So, be ready.”
For over a hundred years Memorial Day has been celebrated in the United States. Memorial Day was originally called, Decoration Day and it was meant for people to recognize the veterans for their bravery and sacrifice for our nation. Memorial day became a Federal Holiday in 1971 but it was celebrated since 1890. In 1890 Memorial Day was a day to honor only soldiers who took part in the Civil War but after World War 1 it became a day to remember all of the soldiers who have fought for our country.
Memorial Day to me means to be grateful for the things that I have thanks to all of the men and women who risk their lives every day. It is a day to thank all of the veterans who are with us but also the ones that have passed away. To me it is a day to say a prayer in thanks to the Veterans that have done so much for our country. It is a day in which I think about what I can do to give back for all of the sacrifices that not only the Veterans but also their families have endured.
If you’re turning on the TV during Monday night’s prime time shows, expect to be treated to a little holiday fun. As we get closer to Christmas (it’s three weeks away, but who’s counting) the shows during the evening hours are getting more and more festive! This is a good thing if you love the holidays and all the joy that comes with the season. If you’re feeling it’s a bit too much, well, say hello to your uncle Scrooge for me. I joke, instead you can find a few less holiday shows on digital streaming right now.

Whipping the covers off my body and groaning as I gradually rotate out of bed. Finally put clothes on without defiance, hair a fluffy mess to just throw a cap on to cover it up, stepping out of the room, blasted by the bright sun. Closing my eyes and rubbing them trying to adjust to the brightness, I started feeling the warmth from the sun coming through the window I could tell it was going to be a blistering, miserable
