It’s 9/11 and all you hear is cries from the people, while the Twin Towers crumbled down, the Pentagon engulfing in flames, and flight 93 crashing in a field. 19 men hijacked four commercial airlines. This terrorist attack on the United States was led by al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. A total of 2,977 people were killed in New York City, Washington, DC and outside of Shanksville, Pennsylvania, it was the worst terrorist attack in U.S. history. This day in history damaged not only the nation, but the people. Citizens were in fear of what could happen on top of all the commotion. The Patriot Act was made to secure the nation, and help people recover from the terrorism attack of 9/11. Some people may think the Patriot Act had no effect on major things. However some people think wrong in the matter. George W. Bush’s enforcement on the Patriot Act of 2011 majorly effected local enforcements, federal agencies, and military regulations. These changes made citizens aware of privacy issues. With the Patriot Act CIA, FBI, and military had many rights to people’s private lives. Today we are looked at microscopically, and have to be cautious of what we do.With the Patriot Act being enforced they need less evidence to prove someone guilty in some circumstances. The slightest thing someone does can affect their life dramatically. People need to be more cautious of what they post on the internet, how they directly talk to people, or even a simple text or call over the phone. The big picture in the Patriot Act is some people don’t realize how involved the government is in your private life daily. With knowing how much the government is involved it makes some people question how much do they know. Being safe and secure is one thing, however being watched is another.
