Oral Impl. Res. 24, 2013, 96–103 Summary of the article: This is a prospective randomized controlled trial. In the study 122 edentulous patients were selected for the trial. Inclusion criteria were edentulous patients at least for 2 years and dissatisfied with their current denture ( Harris et.al.). Furthermore criteria were all the subjects were 75 years or younger with anterior mandible bone height at least 10 mm, with no medical contraindication to have surgery. Every patient was provided with new set of complete denture and was reassessed after 3 months. After 3 months subjects were randomly assigned to two groups- one group who continued to have the complete dentures and other group had 2 implants placed in mandibular anterior. Both groups were reassessed after 3 months of respective treatment. “The patient based outcomes were measured using The Oral Health Impact Profile (OHIP-49), Denture Satisfaction Questionnaire (DSQ), The Schedule for the Evaluation of Individual Quality of Life ( SEIQoL)”.
