“Be a student, as long as you still have something to learn and this will mean all your life” (Doherty, 2013).

As students, the researchers aim to attain success in the future; and as a guide to this path, schools are implementing such things that may help the students to achieve this. And as a result, the philosophy, vision, mission, goals and outcomes (PVMGOs) of the school were making. The PVMGOs serve as guide of the school for the students, faculty, staffs and stakeholders of the campus.
Robbins, Coulter and Stuart-Kotze (2003) said that the PVMGO statements are the important guides for the future of the institution and its academic programs. They explained that the collective efforts align the whole organization towards the accomplishment …show more content…

The philosophy, vision, mission, goals and objectives represent the ambitions of the institution. The philosophy is the guiding principles of the university (Merriam Webster). The vision states the institution hope to become in the future. The mission reflects the mandate of the whole state university and college. The goals are the aims of the hierarchical structure below the institutional level (the academic college/institute/school), and the objectives are the aims at the program level, i.e., what the program hopes to achieve. The program outcomes are the expected results of the program. The philosophy, vision, mission, goals, and outcomes (PVMGO) serve as the foundation of an educational institution. It is the first area that is examined in times of accreditation (AACCUP, 2010).
In accordance with its legal and educational development mandate of the government, the SUC shall define its mission. The program outcomes are the focus of program accreditation. The institution, established on January 15, 1981 through PD 1778, was product of aspiration. In three decades and six years, the university has three major campuses located in different towns in La Union; namely, North La Union Campus in Bacnotan as the main campus and the seat of the central administration; the Mid La Union Campus in San Fernando City, and South La Union Campus in Agoo (Student Handbook, 2012).
