Recommended: Oprah Winfrey as a role model

On January 29 1954 Oprah Winfrey was born in Kosciusko, Mississippi. Oprah’s parents were unmarried and had separated after she was born. At that time, Oprah lived with her grandmother who had terrible conditions when Oprah was six years old, she was sent to the north to live with her mother and half siblings, Jeffrey Lee and Patricia Lee and lived in an inner-city neighborhood which was highly poor and very dangerous. At nine years old, she was sexaully abused by her nineteen year old cousin who had been babysitting her, however this was not the only time she was sexually raped. This hasn’t happened to her once Winfrey was also abused by her cousin, a family friend, her mother’s boyfriend, and finally her uncle. After that time Oprah ran away …show more content…

For example: Oprah Winfrey had signed up with Weight Watchers to promote healthier living and she started to lose weight. Because of her losing weight She lost 40 lbs thanks to Weight Watchers. On the Oprah Winfrey show, she finally announced her weight loss. She had supported Weight Watchers as a thank you to them for helping her lose weight and helping people lose weight also. However, healthy living is not the only philanthropy work that Oprah worked upon. Oprah Winfrey has even opened a school in South Africa for smart children.
More importantly, interesting information on Oprah Winfrey is amazing here are some amazing information about her. Oprah Winfrey was named after the biblical character in the book of Ruth on her birth certificate. When she was a child she was nicknamed the preacher for her ability to recite Bible verses. By age three, Oprah was reciting verses from the Bible on holidays people called her “gifted”. Oprah Winfrey was the first black female billionaire and richest African American Woman. As Oprah Winfrey said, “Turn your wounds into wisdom.”
In conclusion, Oprah Winfrey is an amazing African American woman who is artistic, inspiring and most of all a perfect role model.
