Before entering this field, you must take high school courses that can benefit a person interested in becoming a health care provider. It may still take many years of college and training to earn a base salary. Even though there is room for advancement, this also takes many years of practice and experience. After all the training and experience has been fulfilled, the outlook for this career is encouraging. Education for a health care provider is “getting a graduate-level education...operate independently or under the supervision of a physician” (learnhowtobecome.org). If you get better grades in high school and maybe college, you have a better chance of operating by yourself or under the watchful eye of a physician. Education for nurse practitioners is essential, “health care providers who practice in a variety of settings such as acute care, outpatient care and specialty clinics” (innerbody.com). I found out “the median annual Nurse Practitioner salary is $99,326” (salary.com). That was the average amount of pay for a nurse practitioner, I was surprised. After looking some more, the most interesting fact came up, “median salary for nurse practitioners in the US is approximately $88k per year, but employers pay the most in San Francisco, offering around $109k on average” (payscale.com).
