Helping others has always been something I’ve enjoyed doing. Ever since I was a child I enjoyed doing things for family members and friends. After graduating from high school, I have always gravitated towards jobs that allow me to help others. For example, I became a personal trainer because I loved being able to help people reach their fitness and health goals. Now, three years after graduating high school I have finally realized what I want to do career wise. A career as a LVN is the first step I hope to take towards my career in nursing. For some people, their desire to become a nurse is due to a member of their family being in this line of work. Nurses have the ability to set the whole mood for the visit. As a nurse, I would want to be someone who is able to be understanding towards any patient and any situation. I want to be able to make their experience better. I want to be someone the patient can confide in and feel comfortable with during their stay. Nurses play a key role in today’s society because nurses are the heart of our healthcare system. Today, nurses are innovators; they are changing the practice of health care delivery. Nurses are constantly learning and adapting to different situations. Nurses spend more time with the patient than the doctor. This allows nurses to better understand the patient’s situation and relay the critical information to the doctor. Nurses are also constantly providing patient with endless emotional support which for many patients can be extremely comforting. Being a nurse is a blessing, and I know in my heart that I’m meant to become a nurse. I am compassionate, I am hard-working, and I am strong-willed. I believe all these are good traits for a nurse to have, and I appreciate the opportunity to allow me to become a
