NPR’s ethics handbook is one of the best resources that I’ve been able to use throughout my career as a student journalist. The NPR code of ethics is one of the more comprehensive codes of ethics that I think works well in a field that’s constantly evolving. In the overview of the code, it’s specifically stated that the code is a “living code.” This is seen throughout NPR’s ethics page because they update their guideline regularly. Following a code of ethics that’s constantly changing, seems daunting, but I appreciate that it’s not set in stone.
