Everyone develops habits over their lifetime either it is good or bad. When I was baby I develop one of the worst habits that pretty much damaged my body if I did not make major changes. My bad habit was thrusting my tongue against my lips. It did not only affect my teeth and how my lips were suppose to form, it also effected my speech. My tongue made my words that came out my mouth slurred. The worse thing is that I did not even knew it. A drastic change was going to be changed as soon as I entered sixth grade. I have gotten braces. I was not happy at all. When I heard I was getting braces, I mostly wanted Invisline. Orthodontist said, that will not fix my problem since, I have a huge gap between my teeth. Since, I was in middle school it would be the perfect time to get braces. It was not only popular at that time, people who did not even need braces would want braces because everyone else was getting braces. I was upset I was getting braces, people told me how bad the pain is, how they barely eat anything, their teeth got worse, had to get braces put back on, also how their lips got caught up in their braces. The other half of me was ready to get braces. I …show more content…
It felt weird having metal in my mouth. My teeth were no longer smooth. As soon as I got home I ate like I never ate before I ate real good that night. In my mind I was thinking no one knew what they were talking about braces,do not hurt at all. Till I thought, as a soon as went to bed I felt like my teeth got knocked out with a baseball bat, then drilled back in and got knocked out with a bus. It was major pain, I ran to the car so fast to get the wax to relieve all that horrible pain I was feeling. The orthodontist was right I would thank her for that wax. For the next two weeks I ate nothing but smoothies, my teeth were so sore. I cried myself to sleep every
We have all had those dentist or orthodontist appointments that were a complete nightmare. Getting poked, jabbed, and pinched in the mouth. Well, I have been thinking since I have had this experience and wouldn’t want anyone else to go through that. Maybe I could become an orthodontist and ensure to my patients that these problems do not happen. I enjoy helping people that I don’t know and being as precise as I need to be, to be an orthodontist. Though I have never had any experience at all with any of this, that is what school is for. I realize that being an orthodontist is the best career choice for me.
First of all, if I had not gotten my braces, then my teeth would not be how they are today. They are perfectly straight thanks to Dr. Spiller. I wear my retainer every night. Their company has allowed me to design my own retainer, and I wear it every night to keep my teeth straight for the years to come. Every time that I have an orthodontics appointment, I am greeted with a smile. The staff always makes me feel welcome, and they are gentle when working on my teeth. Every trip I have taken to the orthodontist has
In the process of wearing them, straighten your teeth and hold them in their correct positions. 2. What is the difference between a.. More appealing look Let's face it, metal braces will always look awkward and unappealing. This can be a cause of embarrassment for some when they're made aware of it.
Orthodontics could completely change in the future as this article states, “In the next fifty years, we might be looking at technology that helps teeth grow in straighter, instead of simply trying to straighten them once they have grown in.” (“What Orthodontics Might Look Like In 50 Years?”). New ideas of how to improve the process of orthodontics is remarkable because the ideas get better and better. Hopefully in the future there will be a way to make teeth grow in straight instead of wasting time with braces and have to spend all the money and time on them.
I found out my freshman year that I needed braces and still can’t afford them. Maybe that’s why my parents didn’t take me to the dentists because they would know exactly what they would say. It might be understandable
Sensitivity or Discomfort: Immediately after the procedure, and as the anesthesia begins to wear off, you may feel some discomfort with your new crown. You may also experience some sensitivity to cold and heat for a period of time, but you can help mitigate the sensitivity by using toothpaste specially formulated for sensitive teeth.
Habits are choices that one continues to do repeatedly without actually thinking about them. Habits start with a decision, but they eventually become automatic. One can probably think about things we do every day that we wish we did less of, perhaps like binging Netflix, constantly checking social media, or snacking when not being hungry. If one can understand how habits are triggered, one can learn how to overcome them. The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg and “Rat Park” by Lauren Slater will reveal the main strategies to recognize and overcome habits. Children love to draw even if that’s drawing on the wall of their home or creating a masterpiece on the table. If they are not satisfied with their drawing they can modify it and make it better to their extent. Plastic surgery is just that. It is changing or modifying the way someone looked for different reasons. Dating back to ancient times and its most basic form, plastic surgery has been apart of the world for many centuries (Kalantar-Hormozi, 2013). Since then it has advanced enormously and in society today any part of the body can be manipulated. Plastic surgery also called cosmetic or reconstructive surgery is acceptable for bullied victims, weight loss successors and accident survivors that undergo this ancient practice to better themselves
Children usually develop the habit of sucking thumb when they are young. Not only that, its normal for children to suck on their thumbs, fingers, hands, pacifier or any other objects; as this gives them a feeling of security. It is associated with the action of feeding and gives the children the same physiological comfort as feeding. This habit develops usually in infancy when the children are teething. And has been shown to continue until the age of 12-13 years, if not discontinued.
as being far from harmful. People that decide to follow this habit, don't grasp the actuality that it
It got embarrassing when I started going to school and working however my guests would look at me like I have family problems or stressed about something. “ Most people’s habits have occurred for so long they don’t pay attention…” the author Brad Dufrene explains sometime we follow habits that will have negative impact on our future life and we even do not pay attention to them until we face them. So for me as kid it was fine until I grow up as adult I realized that this nail biting habit is not good for my health. However, I had to quit biting my nails because I would feel embarrassed with this
The first bad habit we will talk about is drinking. Drinking is not a bad habit when done responsibly. Anyone should be able to consume alcohol when they want, as long as they have a sane mental state and recollection of what they are doing. Drinking becomes a problem when people consume too much alcohol and they cannot make good, rational decisions. When this happens the alcohol content in your blood flow to your brain and affects your decision-making and reaction time. This makes perfectly normal human beings think that they can do superhuman things. Most people end up injur...

All my life I was asked the question, have I ever had braces before? I never really exactly saw what others seen in my teeth, until one day when I had my first real dentist visit. The dentist office was very interesting, from the way it looked to the way they operated (I always thought the dentist did the same as a doctor). As I went in for my cleaning the dentist saw that I had a couple cavities, I was trying to figure out what was a cavity. How is this affecting my nice teeth? Am I going to lose the tooth? All these things ran through my mind as I heard the news. The dentist came in and explain everything to me and my mom, gave us the option for fixing this problem. From that day forward I had a billion and one question about how the teeth
