The Nature of Diversity
Diversity in the workplace refers to the range of differences between people in a business. Diversity encompasses gender, age, race, ethnic group, personality, education, organizational function, background and a lot more. Not only does diversity involve how employees within an organisation perceive themselves, but how they view others like their colleagues, managers etc. Now for businesses becoming increasingly global it is important that managers have a well-rounded understanding of diverse workforces and countries as the more diverse your workforce is and the more diverse your business is means you will attract a more diverse consumer base. This helps progress people into becoming accustomed to hearing and sharing their individual perspectives and presenting their ideas. Allowing culturally diverse employees to share ideas brings a broad variety of solutions to the table based on different schools of thought and experiences. If a united front is to be achieved, such training is necessary as they will help teach employees how to accept ideas thoughts, and personalities of other non-native employees, consumers and clients in the workplace. It will also provide essential information on how to deal with conflict and prejudice in a professional and civilized manner. As long as an organisation continues hiring employees, you will continue to spend on training.

Barriers of communication
When working in a company that has people from different races and cultures, it creates barriers of communication. Not only does it make speaking to one another difficult but also tends to affect the internal as well as the external processes of communication. Workplaces which are much more heterogeneous will find methods of communication faster because they won’t have to keep on working harder to ease these culture and language barriers. Some organisations go on to employ entrepreneurs as well as diversity trainers which make the work much simpler.
