When starting English 112, I wasn’t sure what to expect. I hadn’t taken a writing course for two semesters including the summer. I knew that my writing skills were most likely not up to par. I was excited but equally nervous. My past English teachers have always taught me that writing can always be improved. Every writer will have their strengths and weaknesses. As for me, my biggest weakness, would have to be grammar and mechanics. I often make very obvious mistakes and I try to overcome this weakness, but sometimes my peers or instructors will find plenty of mistakes throughout my papers. As I continue my educational journey I wish to work on my weakness so that it will no longer be a hindrance to my grade. On the positive side, I feel as a writer I excel in organizing and formatting my thoughts on paper. Another quality I feel I excel at is understanding the different writing styles such as, APA and MLA. Personally for me I have mastered at switching between writing styles more easily. …show more content…

For example, prior to this course I had no idea what an annotated bibliography was. I soon learned that an annotated bibliography was, where you get sources together that are all related to a certain topic, then the writer summarizes the source it, next, checks the credibility, finally, determines if the source is useful. I found the assignment to be an interesting way to get prepared for the research paper. When starting the assignment, I was not confident that I would do well.
