My Alter Ego: Ariel
Walt Disney has always been known for his brilliant imagination and his overflowing abundance of his well-known Disney characters, each with their own unique personalities. Growing up the Disney princesses were a huge role model to girls my age. The princesses never really appealed to me as much as Ariel from The Little Mermaid. Ariel was known for her love for adventure, her complete stubbornness and her dedicated love, mainly to her beloved Eric. Those three characteristics are also three that portray myself.
The first reason why Ariel is most like myself is because of her love for adventure. In the film, The Little Mermaid, Ariel wonders off to ship wrecks and swims up to the surface to speak to birds to identify human objects. She is always on the run for an adventure, much like myself. If I am not at home taking care of my family, we are out at the Kermit sand hills, taking last minute trips to Indiana, or spending the weekend at my families’ lake house. Like the quote in The Little Mermaid and on “IMDb” says, “If only I could make him understand. I just don't see things the way he does. I just don't see how a world that makes such wonderful things could be bad,” I too agree, the world is a beautiful, magnificent place and taking adventures and exploring is something that has always been appealing to me.
The second reason Ariel is so much like myself is her complete stubbornness. Her father told her over and over to stay away from the surface and to stay away from the dreaded humans. Ariel would never listen. She would tell her father she would not do it again, but soon after wards she was doing the complete opposite. Growing up was the same way for myself. My parents would constantly be on me about where ...

... my loved ones are happy and taken care of is an important role in daily life for me. As with Ariel, I too am with someone my father did not completely agree with. After 2 years, he has grown to realize that we are happy and that we are going to what we feel is right.
Ariel was and still is a very big role model in my life. She helps us see that even though someone else has different dreams for us, it is always more important to try and accomplish the dreams we have for ourselves. Her love for adventure, her complete and udder stubbornness and her undying love for her Eric, friends and family is what makes me realize the characteristics of both of us are similar.
