Have you ever noticed how easily you can remember the lyrics to your favourite song? Yet, you can’t remember that thing. You know, that fact, the one that’s so important for your upcoming test or presentation.

Have you ever noticed how your favourite song makes you feel? You feel the way the artist does – happy, sad, excited, or heartbroken.

Music makes us think and feel in ways we don’t quite understand. But if we could understand how these feelings work, we might be able to learn from it.

Pleasurable music makes us happy. It also stimulates our brain to release hormones. These hormones help us control attention, memory and motivation. So, music makes us focus and helps us remember …show more content…

A child is told to sit still, listen quietly, and concentrate all day, but these are the tasks they struggle with the most. A teacher is responsible for a classroom full of students, and often does not have time to help these children. The child then misbehaves, does not learn, then acts out even more. It’s a vicious cycle, and the child is the one who suffers the most.
Children who suffer from behavioural and learning difficulties often want to learn, but their brains require special methods to concentrate and remember information. These children have difficulty staying focused and cannot retain information. Traditional methods for helping these children include seating the child away from distractions (doors and windows), involving movement/games in the learning process, and allowing the child frequent breaks. However, these techniques can be distracting to other students, and require time to develop.
But what if there were a way we could engage children with learning or behavioural difficulties without distracting other students? By having music playing in the background of the classroom, we may be able to alter a student’s behaviour and help their focus and
