My Museum Critique I have selected the artwork Three Trees, Two Clouds by John Beerman 1990 because it caught my attention as soon as I entered the room. Its bright pinks and oranges just captivated me and pulled me in. As soon as I saw the artwork, it brought up good memories of when I use to live in upstate New York; which made me feel happy and helped me enjoy the painting even more. I was so captivated by the painting that I could not keep my eyes off it. As I sat on the cushion and stared at the painting for a while longer, it made me feel very peaceful and relaxed. I felt as if I could have sat there all day and just enjoy the beautiful painting. I adore landscapes and taking pictures of them, which is also what attracted me to this artwork; it reminded me of my passion for photography and how much I enjoy capturing beautiful landscapes such as this one. The colors that the sky can create fascinate me so much, and spark my creativity.

Secondly, the artwork uses organic shapes to create the two identical clouds in the midground of the painting. Furthermore, the artwork uses value in the piece which can be seen throughout the sky to show the different colors that a sunset or sunrise can create. All of the light pinks, oranges, and hints of blue create a lovely variety of colors in the sky. This artwork is precisely balanced, the three pine trees are perfectly centered to fit the painting and the two lonely clouds in the sky, line up perfectly with the spaces in between those three pine trees; it is such a perfect fit. The main focal point to me in this painting is the perfectly place pine tree directly in the middle of the painting because generally it is the first thing you see when you look at the
