When it comes to learning new things and how you look at the perspective of it everyone is different. Not everyone can learn the same way you do. For example, I like to learn differently than my brother. My brother is more reading the material and analyzing it; I on the other hand like to do examples and be more hands on. I have many ways of learning and different learning strategies. As for I am a multimodal learner, which means I use all the learning styles to learn. I use visual, auditory, read/write learners, and kinesthetic strategies while learning. Multimodal learners can take in information by using more than one of the methods. For visual learners, it is often easy to work with images than working with words. Visual learners recall the image in their head. This is far easier than recalling words. Auditory learners learn through listening. These learners tend to pay attention to lectures, tutorials, and group discussions to absorb the information. Auditory leaners focus on the textbook when it comes to studying or learning new material. If you read the material out loud, it allows you to better comprehend and grasp the information. It is helpful to engage in group discussions to talk among others about topics and concepts for a course. Reading and writing learners learn from reading and writing down the material. These learners pay more attention to their text books, lectures, and notes. They seem to take in more information by have two concepts than one. Working alongside reading and writing can give you be equipped study skills. Kinesthetic learners learn through doing or being more hands on. This can be the most challenging of the learning strategies. In college, we lack the hands-on examples; we tend to just read, write and go to lectures. Labs and tutorials are best for these types of
