Did you know a mongoose and cobra, natural born enemies, have resemblances? Yes, there are a few and many interesting differences I will be telling you as well. In the following paragraphs, I will be sharing what I researched.
I have found that mongooses and cobras are similar in habits. In captivity, both a mongoose and a cobra live from eight-teen to twenty years. These animals are carnivores, meaning that they eat other animals. Also, they must be able to react to each other and have high reflexes. Both a mongoose and a cobra are species, a breed, meaning that there are different types of mongooses and cobras such as a black tree cobra and an Indian grey mongoose. Now, as I have said there are a few similarities and much diversity between the animals. Mongooses are small mammals that look like a cat and a weasel mix. When they are born, like most mammals, they cannot see. Even though this happens they are independent to find their own colony after four to six months of being alive. A mongoose can grow to have a length of eight to twenty-six inches from head to the end of the tail. When running at full speed they can get up to twenty miles an hour, the average person can only run fifteen miles an hour in short bursts.
Cobras are the topic of this paragraph and I will be sharing facts about them. Cobras are long snakes with a hood that is on the back of its neck. As I said, Cobras are snakes, so they are also reptiles and they live in a group called a quiver. These snakes grow up to be three to twenty feet long and weigh from six ounces to 35 pounds. Cobras are on the endangered species list and labeled as vulnerable and are diminishing in numbers. Females lay between twenty to forty eggs, and incubation time, time, until they hatch, lasts between sixty to eighty
