Everything you need to know about an MOS 5812 or military working dog handler. Being a MWD handler is a very big job and is very Imperative to the lives of you and other comrades. A military working dog can only specialize in one job. A MWD can specialize in identifying bombs, finding illegal drugs, and used for search and rescue or search and detain. In many cases MWD’s are the saviors on the battlefield. However, this job may seem appealing it is very hard to get qualified because of all the many immediate disqualifications, extensive training, and both the mindsets of the handler and dog. Most people don’t get this job because of its vigour, many disqualifications, and high expectations even though it is a well sought after job in the military.
