I am applying to Assistant Professor of Microbiology. My knowledge and previous work experiences are both relevant and significant for the job description and person specification provided. I believe that my education and professional background equip me with the necessary skills and experience to positively influence the students. I have been passionate about working in higher education for many years. I first became interested in tutoring through my employment as a research assistant at the University of Tripoli, Libya. I have developed my knowledge of the importance of providing high-quality academic support through offering diverse learning opportunities and experiences to engage, inspire and prepare the students for future life. In particular, I have come to understand the value of sharing objective and success criteria with students. I have helped them clarify what is expected of them in the industry for example and how they can achieve it; this practice allowed students to focus more on their goals. I have worked on multiple projects such as Finding our feet, Organ donation, Passage to success and Lets Cook Grew Sew together. This work experience has expanded my interpersonal skills and maintained my transferable skills which help me expedite learning, organise my workload and communicate coherently and concisely. I have used my passion for teaching to coach and train clients. For example, my role was to train and educate people from ethnic minor backgrounds about climate change and food Waste. I designed workshops to give the audience an understanding of the importance of the subject. I had to simplify the language to communicate the information and make it understandable to people with various language requirements. This was beneficial for the project as it gave the participants a full understanding of the importance of the message. To secure more fund for LCGS; I enter with Let cook grow sew together project in the European competition called REFRESH Food Waste Solution Contest; I successfully reached the top 10 projects out of 70 projects. This was a great achievement as the REFRESH uploaded our project video on their website which helps to deliver the project message widely. It also, helped us to secure fund to run the project for another year.
