A mosque is mainly used as a place of worship for Muslims to pray to Allah. Not all mosques are the same, they vary from place to place. Some mosques are big and expensive whilst some other mosques are small and cheap. All mosques are different but are yet similar in some ways for example; all mosques are a place of worship.
Some mosque have a tall minaret in which the Muezzin uses it to call the Adthaan, informing nearby Muslims that the time of prayer has come and they must quickly start their prayer. This is one of the most important features of a mosque because without the minaret the Muezzin would not be able to call out the Adthaan, prevent many Muslims being able to tell if it is time for prayer or not. Nowadays, the Adthaan is not as convenient as in the past because in today’s modern times, people have watches and clocks which tell them when prayer is due.
A dome is important in mosques in hot countries because the dome structure circulates cool air around the mosque preventing people from dehydrating from sweating in the Mosque. It also prevents the atmosphere inside the mosque from being humid which can cause people to feel and think negatively which is why most mosques in hot countries have a dome structure. Another bonus of having a dome structure in a mosque is that it helps to amplify the Imam’s voice during prayers and Islamic talks. This helps people who are sitting at the far back of the mosque hear what the Imam is reading from the Qu’ran or listen to the Islamic talk which the imam provides.

To be a Muslim, one must follow The Five Pillars of Islam and show dedication to Allah (god).With the development of Islam's unique culture came a brilliant artistic language that represents the stories behind faces, dedication to Allah and the rich culture Muslims all share. There was lots of interesting stuff to see both outside and the inside. The build was very much like the house. I guess it makes sense, since it is here in US, and the weather is pretty cold. Usually in a mosque there towers rising form the mosque. They were round and long and covered with the pointed room. It is where adhan is called; adhan is a islamic call to prayer. And the building has the dome rooftop. The mosque I went to was very plain looking. From the front it looked like a house. It was kind of long, and it had lawn around it, with beautiful trees and flowers planted. From the inside, the building is very plan. As soon as you enter the building there was a shoe rack, where everyone took of their shoes. And then there was a prayer hall, where the warship takes place five times a day. The prayer hall is also called musalla. The prayer hall was pretty plain; there was literally no furniture in the room. There were some chairs for the elderly people, and a book shelf filled with Quran and other islamic religious books. The prayer hall walls were plain as well, except some part where the walls ware decorated with the writings from Quran in Arabic. Other than that, there was no paintings, statues, or altar that caches your attention except one little part of the wall. That one little part of the wall was Mihrab. Mihrab is a semicircular niche in the wall of a mosque, which indicates the direction of the
Zakat is the third pillar of Islam. It is an Arabic word, and translates as purification or growth. It is generally thought of as a tax, as the contributor should pay 2.5% of their wealth to charity. However, Zakat is valued not because of the money given, but the motive behind it. The intentions for giving Zakat should be pure, and simply about pleasing Allah, and earning good deeds.
